Maybe it's just my own pet peeve, but at one point, I would hear this in every other sentence where I worked, by other gay men there. I live in a neighborhood with a high % of gays, in a kind of 'arts district'. Use of the word seems to have waned some, but what do you think?

Do gay men overuse the word Fabulous?

Again, I don't judge anyone for it's use; just one of those little things that will occassionally get to me.

I don't think gay guys use it as often as the stereotype would make you think, except some of the really feminine guys. Most of the gay guys I know act like every other guy except that they like guys, so they don't talk any different either.

Me and all of my friends only use it in a joking stereotype mocking sort of way.

I use it on occasion, and only to intentionally act stereotypically flamboyant.

Straight guys use "awesome" but would never say "fabulous". If gay guys don't say "fabulous", the poor word would be forgotten and never used....

Eh.... I'm not worried about the word or its usage. I honestly don't hear it that often. Once in a while, I'll use it, but not normally.

OK, but let's not neglect marvelous, fantastic and brilliant  I think part of this is where I live...it does seem to get used more in an almost mock-stereotypical way now, than it did say, a decade ago, when shows like 'Project Runway' came out.

I like that one! Has a feral sound to it, like a sleek jungle cat.

I sometimes think it is. At any rate, I hate the word.

It's sort of like this in my mind:

Most gay guys don't use the word fabulous.
But most guys who use the word fabulous are gay.

A couple of times I've used the word gorgeous to describe a tourist place or some really expensive digs, and only one time, about the digs, did the person raise an eyebrow. I don't know. Is gorgeous off-limits too?

I can't really remember the last time I've used it. I do use words like fabulous, awesome, marvelous, etc. when the adjective fits the situation.
