It isn't more prominent in the gay community in my personal observations, although prominence (not just among gays but also in general) could be regional in nature.

I, personally, am unable. Even second hand smoke or tobacco residue on clothing or items can send me on a quick trip toward anaphylactic response.

I don't smoke. My grandmother actually died of lung cancer, because she smoked so much, and that is the reason why I don't smoke.

I don't really have anything against people who do smoke - at the end of the day, it's your choice. It's your body. I'm not going to stop being friends with somebody just because they're a smoker. But as far as romantic relationships go, I feel like smoking would be a bit of a turn off - mostly because I might have children at some point in the future (I'm not thinking about it seriously right now, but I could imagine adopting a child), and smoking around children, especially young children, is really not good.

I smoke cigarettes. I'm not a heavy smoker at all. But yes I do smoke cigarettes.

    I don't know if it's more common.

To me I think cigarette smokers are kinda being shunned in all aspects sadly. Gay or straight.

I don't smoke and don't like it at all. My girlfriend also does not smoke and hates it.

I've heard it is. I smoke the occasional cigar. Some are into harder drugs...
