Guys don't have to be interested in sports. I'm not, and my friends in school were not either. I have fun going to sporting events if I know someone involved (that could mean marching band even), and I can follow what is going on, but mostly I like seeing all the people. But I don't like playing, and wasn't good at it (always picked last).

If you go to sports games, and know how the rules work, that's being interested in sports.

I don't know, that what it seems like to me.

Nobody in my immediate family and very few people in my extended family are into sports. Its probably just the way I was brought up. I'd rather do cardio for exercise than some sport.

    Cardio exercise, is a sport.

Anything done for leisure is a sport.

So listening to music or reading is a sport?

It doesn't bother me one bit if someone isn't interested in sports, and honestly I think the majority of gay guys simply don't care. I've always been a pretty big sports fan and played a bunch of things when I was a kid, but my passion is at an all-time low right now. It doesn't help that my teams suck either. But no, it doesn't bother me at all if someone I like doesn't care about them at all as long as it's not a problem if I do.

I'm a huge sports fan. My bf isn't. He enjoys going to games with me sometimes, and he roots for my teams now (if only because I'm so much more pleasant to be around when my teams win).

Fair enough. But my family and friends would disagree, as my interest just doesn't meet their threshold.

When I was a kid, in my family and in the neighborhood, sports was everything. My dad watched all sports and took the family to games. He put me in little league and tried to get me interested in other sports. I was never coordinated enough to be able to play. I have no interest in watching any team sports. I would occasionally sit and watch on tv and not be interested for very long and change the channel. I dislike the violence, the trying to prove who is stronger or more dominant. I did like to do long distant running when I was younger. Wasn't all that good at it, but the solitaryness and the lack of having to prove to others whether I was good at it or not, was what I thought was of interest to me. Sports just isn't that important to me.

I'm not into sports and almost none of my male friends both straight and not straight are into them either so no, I'd say it isn't weird.

You don’t need to like sports! Personally, the only sports I like are swimming and horse riding, and I’m a boy. It’s just like how girls don’t need to like dresses!
