Is it realistic to look for a BF whilst still at high school?

A song is just a song my friend. It doesn't hold you at night when you are feeling alone.

The pool of gays at any given high school is going to be small. There's a decent chance none of them will really be the right choice for you. High school is just a really bad time for gays to get into relationships because of how teenagers social circles are more limited than that of adults. A mixture of higher rates of being closeted and not knowing people beyond a school or small network of schools usually imposes a significant limitation on same-sex dating in high school.

I wouldn't be too distressed about it not happening before you finish school, frustrating though it may be. I had one very brief relationship in high school. It wasn't particularly worthwhile just because we weren't that similar. The desire for a relationship can cloud the fact that you don't actually know anyone with whom you should be in a relationship.

This won't necessarily be true for you. But it is true for a lot of gay people I know.
