I was talking to my cousin last night over dinner. Just relaxing and talking. At one point he randomly just said "You know Arlene and Glen (my grandparents) know you're gay, right?". At that point I was completely shocked, because I hadn't come out to him, or anyone in my family. But then again, I'm extremely happy. My grandparents have very old views, and can be very homophobic and racist at times. I thought they would hate me for who I am, but thank the fucking god I'm wrong! :eusa_danc
Congratulations 3n! That has to take an awesome weight off your shoulders. I know how concerned you've been about the possibility of losing their love when they found out you are gay. I told you that you might be surprised that their love for you might very well trump their prejudices. I'm so happy that it worked out that way! Deep breaths now and CELEBRATE!
Another thought. So if your cousin and your grandparents know you're gay, does that mean that everyone in your wider family knows?
