I'm not sure if I have gender dysphoria.

Hi I am 18 and was born assigned male. When I was young I used to have dreams that I was a woman and very recently I have started to feel very feminine and have wanted to grow my hair out, dress up as a woman and start wearing makeup. I've started looking at women and wondering what their clothes would look like on me. Are these signs of gender dysphoria?

Your feelings are very similar to how mine often are (except it’s reversed for me obviously)
I’m not sure if it fits the technical definition of Gender Dysphoria but it definitely all counts as dysphoria in my book.

There are many straight men who dress up as women because they find it sexually pleasing. Perhaps explore that, as it is more common than transgender.

What kind of body would you prefer (one that is ''male'' or ''female'')?

And what if you could wear feminine clothes and be a man?
Not neccesarily sexually, just because you like the coothes.

I want to have the upper body of a female. I hate my facial hair, chest hair and arm hair. But I don't know about getting rid of my genitalia.

I have shaved most of my body and I still don't feel much better.

Bear in mind that medically transitioning and starting oestrogen won't get rid of your body hair. Trans women often go through laser hair removal or just routinely shave to get rid of hair.

Crossdressing is often a starter indicator or being trans but it's really not considered gender dysphoria. Are you uncomfortable being perceived as a man? Would you prefer people to use she/her pronouns when referring to you? When you see yourself in 5 years do you see a man or a woman? It could be that you just have a fascination with womens clothes and would prefer to crossdress. Keep experimenting and seeing what suits you.

I am a bit uncomfortable with being referred to as male and would prefer she/her pronouns. I don't know about in 5 years time.
