I was wondering what are your opinions about the Actuallesbians sub? I have heard quite a few negative stuff about it and to be honest I've seen some internalized biphobia there, like you cannot suggest a girl (who is questioning) that she is bisexual without being downvoted/banned. But that was 5 years ago, so...
Haven't visited r/actuallesbians before, but I know that so many subreddits can get very dogmatic and toxic (to be fair, that may just be people in general lol). Hit and miss with the other queer subreddits. Good memes tho
I don't have a reddit account but do visit some sub reddits when bored (mainly askreddit, r/roastme, r/letsnotmeet, and a few others on occasion). Never noticed alot of toxic stuff on there but that could be because I'm a casual visitor and not actually on reddit, so I'm mainly there for interesting stories/topics.
I love reddit, but stay clear of the gay ones. In my experience it's either a flirt fest or guys desperately trying to not be seen as anything other than extremely masculine. Things may have changed since I've been though.
I was on it a little bit about 3 years ago, I didn't notice anything too negative. There definitely were some bi girls and even bicurious ones. I don't know how the subreddit is like now though. I'm not a reddit user anymore, because I felt kind of attacked at another subreddit. Most lgbt subreddits I found were mostly supportive.
I'm more a lurker, but have had nothing but positive experiences the few times I've made posts Are we allowed to discuss other sites on EC?
So I had tons on upvotes and nothing but kind words on actuallesbians until I posted my opinion of a specific video game and apparently someone didn't like it and I was banned/muted on the sub. Complete bs, haven't been on there since. Haha. Wish there were more lesbian subs though for actual lesbians.
I am in reddit and no lie 5 yrs later nothing has changed. r/actual lesbians is still toxic , don't go back for real
Oh I love reddit! It's become one of my favorite places on the Internet. However, I mainly go to technical (mathematics, computing) subreddits, a few hobby ones (astronomy, classical music, whiskey) on which the threads are usually interesting, supportive, and good-humored. I also pick my threads carefully, and if one of them degenerates into name-calling, I just leave it. I've poked my nose into r/gay a few times and the threads I've been to seem mostly OK. Like everywhere else in this world: physically and online, it pays to choose carefully where you go and the company you keep!
I do it from time to time. Though, it's mostly for news and memes related to a few obscure video games and/or interests. So, I haven't heard much about said sub-reddit.
I assume so, since this thread already got a lot of replies and still didn't get removed. Also I've seen other threads talking about reddit specifically
