I was really happy. I thought that it would be cool to marry a woman instead of a man. I was seven years old and extremely sheltered.

I was excited. I thought I was the only one who thought that way for the longest time and it didn't bother me but having others who where like me made me feel more comfortable to talk about my thoughts and feelings.

I guess I always knew there are people who are "perverted" thanks to grown ups talks.

However when I discovered there are gay guys like me... I feel a bit more relaxed. Being a freak among freaks is another beast to handle.

I was pretty indifferent to it, kind of: Cool, but no biggie, what's for dinner?

I must have been 10 or so. Found out while reading fiction. It was a pretty good story.

No, I guess not. When I was about 4 years old, a Swedish music show was lead by a gay couple. So, gay people have always been there. They were always far away though, like, I couldn't be a part of that.

I only learned about gay people because my dad was friends with a lesbian couple. I knew they were married, but I didn't know the word gay existed. I somehow knew that I would prefer to marry a woman back then.

When I learned about the word gay when I was ten I felt confused. A lot of people implied that marrying the same sex meant you were gay. I was wondering if wanting to marry a woman instead of a man made me gay. I didn't ask anyone because I knew that people were being bullied about being gay.

I don't remember exactly. I think I just kinda thought "oh...so some men love other men and some women love other women," but I still thought it was unusual. I just immediately assumed that being gay was so rare and uncommon that seeing a gay couple walking down the streets would be worthy of a news story. And people wonder why I hate heterosexism so much...

I was like "why is it wrong being gay?".

I don't even remember reacting to it considering I have relatives who are openly gay themselves. Although meeting an actual same-sex couple made me feel a bit uncomfortable and confused.

I don't think I really gave a damn back when I learned that, since I had virtually no romantic or sexual attraction to anyone/anything at the time. So to me all love was foreign.

What I DO clearly remember is the hate my uncle had for gays/lesbians. That was when I started hating him too.

I guess I never really cared. I was growing up when rumors were abound about Michael Jackson being gay (in my elementary school anyway) and when Ellen came out. I just never understood the big deal.

Nor do I. My mum had a gay friend while I was growing up and I knew what it meant. Didn't bother me.

I honestly can't remember when I found out about it, but I do know that I was fascinated by articles I may have read or whatever. I do know that I was never a neutral observer.

I can't remember when I discovered it. I have probably saw it on TV because of the first Gay Pride parade in our country. I loved the idea that people celebrate love and have so much fun, I had no reaction, it was just cool for me.
