When I was in school, I never heard too many homophobic comments. Maybe 3 or 4 a week, but that was about it.

wow, 3 or 4 a week, the average i get is 7-10 a day and usually they are the same people saying thats gay over and over, racking them up until someone tells them to shut up or they get bored of it nd move on.

FYI: This technically isn't an experiment, but maybe a survey because you're gathering statistical data. However, you can modify what you are doing to try to find possible trends correlating to other variables, such as region, sex, maturity, whatever.

It would be great to come up with a standardized chart including different criteria to fill in whenever you hear such common phrases used. (Something I'm willing to do if you can give me ideas!) :icon_bigg

It's obvious to me that males are more likely to use sexual slurs towards their classmates, but I can't really test the other things. "Region" is going to be the same for everyone I listen to personally, I can't really call "mature" anyone who would call their friend a homo, and nothing else is really coming to mind. I'll probably start back next week when I have more free time.

Then it would be a good question to ask why.

How about if we ask the person how religious they consider themselves, and to what religion they claim to be a member of?

I don't exactly think I could walk up to 20-30 random people every day and ask what religion they follow.
