    Hi everyone!

I'm doing an honors project on video games, and I was wondering if you could help me out a little? Would you mind telling me what your thoughts are on the image below? What's going on, what does it make you feel? Thank you!

Characters (left to right): Princess, Hero, Steward.

I imagine this scene takes place at the very end of the story/game. The mention of quests and knights suggests it could be an RPG.

I'd say the Hero has just completed his quest and is about to leave the kingdom with the Princess.

The mention of "love", "a safe journey!", "rewards", the Hero's smile, his wink (at least that's what it looks like to me) and the Steward's knowing look suggest that our Hero is about to have some carriage sex.

Given the tongue-in-cheek nature of the picture I think the game would probably use a lot of humour to tell the Hero's story.

It doesn't really make me feel anything but the way the image has been drawn reminds me of Braid.

    Hope that helps.

I just realized I posted this in the wrong forum. If any mods read this, could this thread be moved to the Technology, Gaming, Soft-& Hardware forum? Thank you!

The characters are from L to R: Princess, Knight, Steward.

However, I think this could also be the introduction to a game. If you think about it, the previous slide could have been an explanation on how the selfish knights try to take advantage of rewards, and now we see that this knight is not like the others.

This scene almost feels like it is going to lead into a tragic event, something along the lines of the carriage is going to be ambushed (maybe by thieves or some unknown main antagonist) and the princess will be abducted. Then this whole scene would be like a prologue to the beginning of a long journey in which the knight proves his nobility and good morals.

The color scheme is more pastel-based, usually resulting in the storyline not being too serious but rather presenting a story in which a wide variety of ages could easily grasp the story.

At least, this is how I see it~ Hope this was of help!

L to R: Princess, Knight, Steward.

The castle in the background makes me think that they're leaving to go to another land or some such.
Maybe they were just attacked by bandits and Ser Knight swooped down from the forest and beat them back. Or, there's a lot of rogues in this land that they're traveling to and the knight's wishing them to have a safe(r) journey.

Considering the bright, up-beat colors of the kingdom area, maybe the creators set it up so that there will be a drastic change with dark, foreboding color schemes. Like a calm before the storm, I guess would be a good way to put it. It makes the kingdom seem safe and happy, then transitions to a nightmarish area. Some contrast.

I'm also a bit suspicious of the knight. That wink is sketchy. Maybe since he (possibly) saved the princess and steward from attack by bandits, he has a good cover. After all, why would he save something only to destroy it later?
It gives him a good alibi for possibly raiding the carriage. No one would suspect him. Plus, the dialogue could have a completely different meaning than intended.

"He's a good knight, why would he need a reward?"

Perhaps because he's not a good knight.

I feel wary of the knight, and I feel like there's a big journey ahead with lots of problems.

Honestly what this image makes me think?
"Is that from a game by Subsoap? Looks like his art style/ button design."
    >_<

What I think about what is going on?
    "Chivalry in action."

I apologize for my basic answers. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I'm not the type of really analyse.

I believe that this is the beginning of the game, with the night being the protagonist. The first mission was probably to rescue the princess, and after the mission is completed, he sends her on her way. The player probably never gets to see the face until the end of the game, as a knight isn't supposed to degrade the woman to just looks. She doesn't really get kidnapped again, and she is more along the lines of a reoccurring help character.

The art style is rather interesting. It's a mix of both chibi and the more scratchy European art style. It's most notable in the pencil strokes. The look on the knight's face could indicate a more mischievous side to him. Even though he is the protagonist, he doesn't really play by the book.

The image gives the feel of either an RPG or something similar. Personally, I find it makes me think of a character reading a book in the game, or at least it's the starting section. The words underneath also give an air of freedom, making me think it might be a fairly open-ended game with a lot of possibilities in gameplay.

Looks like the end of the game with a sequel hook. Of course the knight didn't get rewarded for whatever heroism he just did, because the pic sees fit to lecture people about chivalric ideals. Perhaps in the second game he might start out slightly bitter? Or just that much more determined to achieve greater goals in order to get recognition from his princess?

Personally I'm not a fan of the art style, as it looks like cutesy fantasy without a lot of distinguishing characteristics to make it unique. This game would have to have something awesome up its sleeve to be noteworthy at all.

The two boys seem to have an odd look about them, as if they know they're going to do something bad while the girl puts her trust in them.

From left to right: A noble lady, perhaps a princess; A knight in chain armour, possibly another nobleman, and a filthy peasant who drives the coach.

As for what's happening, it could be pretty much anything. The good deed the knight may, or may not, be doing could be simply escorting the woman somewhere, or maybe they just got married and are leaving the church, leaving the "heroic deed" premise as an epilogue to previous events.

Game-wise, this scene could be used just about anywhere in the plot. The girl looks fine to me, so I doubt they just escaped some evil lord's legions of terror.
