    Hey there, the names Tapp404, or most commonly referred to as Tapp. (pronounced "Tap" I get it pronounced as "tappy" a lot, idk) Here's an introduction to me:
    -Enby and proud
    -Please use they/them when referring to me :3
    -Bi and also proud
    -Found out I was Bi a few weeks ago (along with becoming nb), and became obsessed with LGBTQ culture!
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    How I found out I was...
    -Non-Binary: I never truly resonated with my AGAB (male btw) and always wished I was a girl instead, and a few weeks ago I found out about Enby and fell in love with the concept <33333!!! it feels so great to have a word that describes me and how I feel about myself.
    -Bisexual: The age-old tale: I see a hot/cute guy and I say to my friends "I'm not gay, but that guy is kinda hot..." eventually I pieced together that: surprise! I actually WAS attracted to guys! :grin: :grin: :grin: I actually came to this realization last week, realizing that "Bisexual" was 100% a term that describes me.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    I found this site while realizing a Minecraft creator I followed (Mysticat) was trans which made me very happy, both to find this out about them, and to find a forum site for LGBTQs!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I'm trying to make new friends and meet people, so if you want, drop an intro to yourself in the thread using this as a template! I'm excited to meet all of you!
    Welcome to EC Tapp. I've commented on another thread you created but found this one here in the Welcome Lounge with no welcome, so thought I'd engage here too.
    It's very liberating to find out who you are, and I wish that I'd been able to do that at your age, the age at which I had my first seriously strong crush on another boy. Instead, I presented myself to the world as straight to fit into my heteronormative surroundings. I always knew I liked both boys and girls and internally considered myself to be bisexual. However, as I've never had a relationship with another male, it felt as though identifying as bisexual would be trying to make an unnecessary statement that could just draw unwelcome attention from the haters.
    I've been married for 26 years and, although I love and adore my wife, and also continue to find her sexually attractive, I can still look at a cute/hot guy and think, "I'm not gay, but that guy is kinda hot..." More recently, those thoughts are prompting me to unpick that because I realised that I don't look at women and think the same thing.
    I know that labels are not the important thing, but others on this site have helped me to a position where I reckon that homoflexible (sits under the bisexual+ umbrella) best describes me and helps me to understand why I have had gay feelings all my life but have had straight relationships. I hope you find this site useful as you've got a huge world of opportunity in front of you to take it on as the person you feel.
    The world is a different place than the one I grew up in, so spare a little bit of understanding for us closeted old folks who may scorn your self-identification, as they might just be a bit envious that they couldn't do the same.
    Tapp.....Hello and a great big LGBTQIA+ welcome to Empty Closets! :old_smile: I can remember the first post that I made on EC. I was desperate for help and I got the help that night that I so needed. I hope that we can help you in the same way that I received help. The most important thing to remember about Empty Closets is that we do care about you! We're very glad that you found us here on EC and hope that we can answer questions, give you support and provide a place to vent (as long as it's not violent!) :old_big_grin: when that becomes necessary!
    *****There are 18 different sub-forums here that you can check out and join in the conversations or start your own thread/conversation. When I first joined Empty Closets I was in need of a lot of support and encouragement and I found it here…EC is a safe place. I hope that you'll find good things here too! Folks here will talk to you and share...you don't have to be afraid of asking questions...we're glad to have you! Empty Closets is all about making connections and giving LGBT folks a voice when they otherwise don't have one in their day-to-day lives.
    In particular you may want to check out the forum that is titled "Sexual Orientation”, there are people there who have dealt with some of the same kind of issues that could be challenging you.
    Some info on how to navigate EC:
    When you have made at least 10 posts on various threads you will be able to post messages on a member's Profile Page. Just click on a member's Avatar Picture and then click on "Profile Page" in the dialogue box that pops up. You'll then be on their Profile Page and there will be a box that says: "Write Something" When you have been on EC for a few weeks and have made at least 50 posts on various forums, you can apply for Full Membership. A Full Member can send Private Messages (PM) to other Full Members and share personal contact info. Right now, you can only send a PM to a Staff Member as that is always possible. Here is a quote from the Full Membership information forum: :old_cool:
    *****
    To be eligible you must be a member of Empty Closets for a minimum of two weeks, and have a minimum of 50 posts. These posts must be across numerous forums (Fun & Games does not contribute to post count), and consistently posted across a minimum of two weeks. You wouldn't be eligible, for example, if you registered, had no activity for two weeks, and then returned to post 50 times on your 14th day of membership.
    *****Well, as I said, we're very glad you found us! :old_rolleyes: If you have any questions at all, you can always send me a Private Message.
    Hi Tapp, welcome. I hope you can find the community you are looking for on EC.
    Please note that "NB" should never be used for "non-binary." The correct abbreviation is "enby," as "NB" traditionally means "non-Black" and is seen as offensive by many people of color. I know it wasn't intentional, that is why I'm letting you know. :slight_smile:
    Tapp.....I guess I'm a little at loss here too as I've never heard Caucasian, etc. people referred to as "NB", although enby does sound and look better! :old_smile: What is important here is that we care about you and want to help in any way that we can! :old_big_grin:
