I know it's such a random question but I was just wondering how people in general cope with the situation - since I haven't been in a serious physical fight which I lost. So I thought I'd ask EC lol.

How did you cope afterwards? Did you need medical attention?

Feel free to share ...if you're brave enough lol.

I dunno if 'lost' is the right word but I have received black eyes and a broken finger during fights, but there was never a clear winner. Although that broken finger really hurt and I had to go to hospital.. so maybe they did win, lol.

Nope. I've been in one fight, and I won. More or less. It was in seventh-grade gym class, and the teacher had to come and separate us, but it wasn't my ass lying on the ground when we were separated.

No, and I'm very fortunate, because I was in sixth grade, and a dude-bro in the eighth grade wanted to assault me because, according to him, I'm a faggot. :frowning2:

I definitely don't want to physically fight if I can avoid it.

Got almost knocked out in school once when I was about 13/14 years old. He was a 'friend' and I told his brother to stop being an idiot and repeated it again when challenged. After he hit me I dont remember much but I do remember that later on he regretted it after he was physically and verbally intimidated by someone who was my best friend at one point.

I never really felt bad or anything about it as I knew that guy was stronger than me all along. It just confirmed in my mind that him and his entire family were idiots.

What happened with that? Did he just say that he wanted to beat you up but did nothing about it?

I did what stupid liberals and school administrators want me to do: defuse the conflict by behaving deferentially and letting him dehumanize me. Once he got the emotional victory he wanted, he moved on, and I never heard from him again.

Unfortunately, violence wasn't an option because I was not physically fit at the time, and even if I had been, I would have been re-victimized by psychopathic school administrators and the legal system.

I've been doing karate for almost 10 years so people tend to leave me alone but the closest I've gotten to a fight is sparring in karate :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I've lost a fair amount sparring

I've never been in a physical fight in my life and I don't feel that I'm missing much. That said, if someone attacked me, I would fight back, there is no doubt about that.

Yep, but my worst experience wasn't a physical fight. There was this really cute boy at high school that kept bugging me on and off for a few months, until one day he just went berserk and said some really vicious things to me in front of my friends. Under normal circumstances, I would have broken his nose, but this time I felt hurt so much I had to make an effort not to cry.

A few years later, I found out that he was gay. Oh well...

I've gotten savagely on multiple, by never actually fought back. I got a black eye once and my arms and stomach were covered in bruises pretty much constantly for several months. It felt really bad and made me feel really scared to go back to school. This kind of stuff shouldn't happen.

I've gotten into play fights with people (those friends who casually wrestle with each other...#justcutesleepoverthings), but never anything serious. The most "serious" thing was a total accident, but I got clocked in the jaw by my cousin.

Not a fight per se, I was in a group at a sporting event, I travel to both home and away games, we got jumped by a group of opposite fans walking into the ground so of course I was going to hit someone and defend myself. Not a boxer by any means but I could connect :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: police broke it up within a minute! Few bruised knuckles and a chipped tooth. Who'd be a football fan anyway :/ :L

    Not since school.
I legged it from a mate on a school camp. We were pissing about with badminton racquets after dinner around the catering tent. I saw a piece of carrot top and whacked it towards him and got him straight in the boat. He was pretty angry and though I was quite confident he wouldn't have hit me, I still ran.

Another boy called Chris was always gunning for me and punched me a dozen or so times in quick succession outside the Home Economics room. That was enough for me to realise I'm shit at fighting.

Not since elementary school. I was the smallest kid in our class so it wasn't exactly difficult to beat me in a fight - not that I fought often. Worse thing that happened to me was a concussion.

I've found that people who threaten physical violence generally back down when they realize I would readily go at them if they tried it.

Nope. 25 years and counting of hard martial arts training has seen to that.

    Happy days

Wayy more than i care to count.

Never needed medical attention just sported a black eye or cuts and bruses for a few days. Nothing a bit of rubbing alcohol couldn't take care of (ironic because it was usually the drinking alcohol that started the fight).

Coping with it was just a matter of my face hurting and reminding me of how stupid i was for fighting in the first place
