I have posted my coming out story here on EC, and have begun my journey to fully embracing my identity. I've come a long way in 6 months, from being in the closet at 28, to coming out to those I love at 29, and beginning to date. I decided to search for books on coming out, just to hear some other stories in addition to what's on EC, and I just stumbled upon one of the best reads of my life. I highly recommend the book, "A Life of Unlearning" by Anthony Venn-Brown, to anyone who was like me, trying to force yourself to date women, and to figure out how to change yourself from gay to straight to "fit in" and feel comfortable with being yourself. The book centers around a Christian man, but I think someone of any religion (or lack of one) can benefit from the message of unlearning the ignorance with which society brainwashes you. (!)
