All the time, though usually not by choice. It depends on the game

Even when I was a kid I always went for the male option. The only time I didn't was if there was no choice, or if a friend who would give me shit for it was watching lol.

The only time I purposefully tried to play a girl was in some MMO; after a little looking around I discovered the guys liked to give free stuff and quest help and so on to anyone who seemed female since there weren't a lot of girls around. So I tried.. and most of them thought I was faking it for the free stuff lol. (Although to be fair, I was...:lol:slight_smile:

Sometimes, but just for the hell of it. Mount and Blade Warband, for example, gives you different starting stats in single player depending on your gender, so it's fun to mix things up a bit when starting new games.

  4. Of course! In League of Legends, no one gives a shit about if you play a female champion (character) or not.

LoL is a game where the gender of the champions does not determine the amount of skill required to master it, or its damage output. People play the champs that they could master and work with the most. Its gender is hardly thought of, unless you're a close-minded player.

Btw, my favorite champs are all female. They're probably the most powerful champs ever.

Yeah, but only in something like mario kart where it gives you the option of playing as x character before a race. In other games I'll play as male.

I tended to always play females in roleplaying games, always felt more comfortable for reasons I now know.

Hmm, I play a female in the latest Fire Emblems because I have more marrige options, and female in most games were there is an opposite sex love intrest. If not that I chose what design seems most intresting.

I have noticed though that about half the time my dad plays video games with the option of chracter customisation, he'll play a female, probably because oh dayum look at dat booty. Probably.

When I have the choice... But sometimes male supremacy overlooks the strength women have and makes female characters useless. *scoffs and rolls eyes*

I usually play as my own gender now, because it feels nice.
When I was younger, I mostly played as female.

Actually, on the topic, playing as a male character helped me realize I was trans. In May, I was playing through PMD Explorers of Sky again, and to be Riolu, you had to be male (kinda sexist, I know) and so I did that and wondered why I kept worrying so much about the gender and even enjoyed it.

I always preferred playing as a dude. Or animal like Yoshi. I have noticed a lot of my gay friends choose female characters like Peach in Mario Kart or will make themselves a girl in Pokemon.

In LoL, most of my favorite champions are females (all my level 5 champs are female ). Well most support and AP characters (my favorite roles) in LoL are female.

In games where you create or choose your own gender games, I prefer playing as male. I like the feeling of playing as myself in the gaming universe
