More estrogen would be a catastrophe for me. I don't know if I would have survived it :/

 

I'm not surprised, I've heard worse said by these people. On a serious note, an increased dosage of a particular hormone which is already being secreted by a trans persons body won't work at all. Gender identity disorder isn't a hormonal disorder.

 

I wonder how an interview to the fox 'expert' job looks like ......

 

Fox: so what is your experience
Expert": uh I worked at McDonald's then I got fired for being stupid
Fox: but do you know anything about the subject?
Expert": uh I read a book about it once like 10 years ago in high school
Fox: YOU GOT THE JOB!

 

Here is what any Fox "news" interview would be like:

Interviewer: Do you support any human rights activity?

He has completely ignored all the scientic data collected about transgender people. Like most bigots he has selective hearing when it comes to what scientific fact he wants to looks at.

Ok, admittedly there's a lot of things about the trans comment that I don't like, don't get, or just don't make any sense to me...but TORTURING THEM???!! They're people too, you know.

 

And yet they cry "just think of the children!"

I've been sober 21 days now and even thought the headline was fucked up.

 

While I think toturing trans people is wrong. Letting them use the other bathroom may lead to problems. EX: Gross straight guy claims to be trans and goes in womens bathroom.

 

Well, that isn't a problem with trans-people so much as those cis-people who are trying to make a statement by being a nuisance.

Trans-people deserve to use the restroom of their gender, and shouldn't be forced to use the wrong one any more than anyone else.

 

Not shocked tbh. It's Fox, after all.

 

Here's the thing, the rules in my state specifically state that you can still throw people out of the restroom for policy violations. So if someone is doing something they shouldn't, I can throw them out. Cis, trans, straight or gay. What I can't do is say that "trans woman makes me feel icky", "dude is too femme", or "woman is too butch" and kick them out. And that was needed, since the reality before those rules were if I failed to pass, I could be given a lot of crap for it.

As much as it is crowed that it will lead to problems, risking a charge of voyuerism or sexual assault hasn't stopped this stuff from happening in the men's or the women's room. Codifying rules that say you can't simply kick someone out on the basis of their presentation is meant to prevent things like employers requiring you to be post-op (with the price tag to go with) just to use the bathroom in peace. Or to prevent things like the woman who dressed too masculine from being kicked out of the women's restroom by police for lacking ID proving her right to be there (yes this happened, and this what bathroom laws will ultimately do, hurt everyone who is remotely non-conforming to masculine/feminine stereotypes).
