Seems like an eighth grade English language practice question...

I'd say forest, personally. When I visualize ocean, I only see empty and lonely stretches of dry sandy beach. I relate ocean to my darkest and loneliest days. But forest? It's teeming with animals, moisture, life and untold stories in every corner, a new species of plant undiscovered somewhere, wild scent of unknown flowers...it feels like an adventure. I feel oddly surrounded and calm in a forest, unlike ocean, which makes me feel overwhelmed, like waves of panic I have to go through some days, drowning in the worries, with nobody to help. (wow, I'm going in a hugely metaphorical tack with this!)

I guess oceans, forests kind of creep me out. Reminds me of The Blair Witch Project XD

Oceans. There are a lot of forests by me so I see them often. I'd like to visit the ocean for a change. Plus the sound of waves is soothing.

I love forests. Plenty by me and I love going for walks in them. Use to play in them as a kid. Robin Hood is a hero of mine and and fantasy games such as Warhammer I always like elves or otherwise base races.

That said I do like sitting by an ocean listening too the sea and thinking.

    Ocean. Hands down.
The water calms and makes me feel at home.
It may sound silly, but I call the sea here ‘ dad ‘. Influence of Hindu and Greek mythology.

I really like both, but I’d have to pick forest. The forest is beautiful and really calming to me. When I was a little kid, there was this large pine tree in my backyard and sometimes I’d just go under it and enjoy thinking in silence. It eventually had to be cut down, but that’s probably part of the reason why I love trees and the forest so much. Also, I’ve always wanted to have a house or cabin in a forest near some mountains.

    Forest.

There is a certain novelty and calming factor associated with the ocean, especially because I live far from any ocean.

But the forest is closer (physically) to me, I have more memories associated with it, and there are more things you can easily do in a forest (eg camping).

If I could, I would go to a forest almost every day and just sit there. Do art and talk to myself, pet the dogs that go past. Collect nice stones and twigs, and pictures of passing dogs. I'd make a little camp tent out of sticks, stay in there if it's raining. I'd go home before it gets dark, though. Unless I lost track of time, then I'd call a taxi.

Forests with some paths for my mountain bicycle

    Plus I'm a landlubber

Anyway I'd much rather visit one of our local beaches or graveyards

I like both, but I prefer the ocean. Maybe ‘cause I live 20 feet from a forest.

Forests. I was always kind of scared of the ocean, because you never know how deep it goes, what's in there, if there's a riptide or something nearby, etc.

Forest. I love how deep, mysterious, and full of vegitation they are.

The ocean. I LOVE swimming and the water, but I can’t stand mosquitos, which are flooding the forests nearby.

I grew up in the Cub scouts, then when I was old enough became a staffer at the same camp. Eventually I was program director. I love the forest so much because of those experiences, it's just a magical place.
