I was rummaging through my room earlier today and I came across the first music album I ever bought with my own money from a shop on my own, the album in question was "A+E" by Graham Coxon.

Anyway, it got me wondering what albums other people bought as their first physical music album.

    Post away

From all the crap i waste money on, music is not something that i consider worthy of spending money on. Not, especially when it's so readily available on the internet.

Mine was a bit of a strange one, Dido - No Angel. To this day I insist that it's a good album!

    Godsmack: IV

In Junior High, Godsmack is pretty much all I ever listened to.

First one I remember actually purchasing myself was Nirvana's In Utero, but the first one which still means something to me is Bon Iver, Bon Iver.

Both CDs, as I haven't gotten into the vinyl craze, yet...

From HMV, with a birthday voucher. Used to have the same poster on my wall as well!

Could have been a lot worse remembering some of the stuff I used to be into

Let's see...the first album I bought was Rush, Moving Pictures. After that, Thomas Dolby, the EP. Me and my brother split the cost.

I don't remember the first album I ever bought, but I do remember my first album on vinyl: Crystal Castles' second album. Bought it a few years back on holiday in Barcelona, when I didn't even have a record player yet.

    No regrets.

I doubt I'm ever going to buy an album physically, considering I play all my music digitally and with ease thus, so I'll say my first digital album purchase which was either Kaiser Chiefs - Souvenir or Foo Fighters - Greatest Hits
Can't remember which of the two

Probably a Britney Spears or Backstreet Boys cassette or something.

Although the earliest one I still listen to is Pink Floyd's Animals, which to date remains one of my top ten all time records

You didn't live through the struggle that was life before broadband

Limewire as well you should be grateful you've never had to try dl an album track by track on that ha

But yeah physically buying a cd does seem like a strange thing for me to do these days when I can torrent any album in seconds

    ohhh I remember Limewire... wow.

As much as I like to buy digital music these days, physical discs are still nice. Packaging, lyric booklets, there is a bit more to them than just the music.

I buy digitally what I can't buy in physical form and vice-versa. I also borrow a lot of music from the library. I try not to go the pirate route because I do think it's wrong. Just because it's easy to do and everyone does it doesn't mean it isn't wrong.
