Any advice on how to deal with a fear of flying? I’m going on a trip to see my family next week and I can’t seem to get excited about it because I know seeing them means a two and a half hour flight there and back. I get so anxious on planes I burst into tears and want to start screaming. I’m terrified of turbulence and just the feeling of being out of control. It’s gotten really bad and I don’t know what I can do to calm down on planes.

A friend of mine went to her doctor and was given some tranquillisers (diazepam) to help her with the nerves

Longer term, you can go on courses to help the whole process if it is interfering with general life

Think about how it’s safer than driving a car.
