Heya people, this is not a really serious thread but it does contain something I've thought before

I don't like being the only person still awake at night in my house. (This isn't really a fear but it can be under stressful circumstances) I don't know why; I just lose a sense of security when I'm the only person alert in an area. Probably because I don't usually depend on my awareness completely? I like activity even if it is small.

Anyone feel like this? My Mom says I'm weird when I bring it up LOL. Am I weird for feeling this?

I'm the opposite. I like it. Before somebody on my dads side temporarily moved I used to have the mornings all to myself  And if I was more a night person then I wouldn't of minded being the only one awake then

I'm usually the only person awake at night in my house. So no it doesn't bother me... Unless it's thundering and lightening. Then I'm terrified at night.

I was a night owl as a kid. I liked being awake and feeling like the rest of the world was asleep. It gave me the feeling that I could do anything... but we have laws and such :rolle:

And also I got older and understood there were different time zones.. soooo...

But I do think I understand where you're coming from though. Maybe its the lonely feeling you get that makes you feel the way you do? Maybe your household is really alive and active during the day? At night it gets all dead and quiet and messes with your head a little.

Well...... It's 7.30am and I just stayed up all night. An hour ago I took a walk. So no, I don't mind being the only one awake....

I'm never the ONLY one awake, with my gf just in the other room. But usually she wonders about weird noises at night more than I do and I investigate them for her sake. I'm confident enough in my own ability to defend her and myself that it would have to be pretty darn bad before I couldn't handle it.

Sometimes I ramp up the spooky meter and look at scary pictures or creepypastas online hehe.

I'm a bit of a night owl so I'm usually the only one left awake, I like it.

The dreadful lonely nights when the beast inside just howls in pain and wants to inflict worse pain to other people.

Good ol' time, good ol' time.

Since the other 3 topics vanished, LOL...

Honestly, I like being the only person awake.

It's quiet, which is always appreciated for thoughts and reflections. I like my alone time. But there is also the sense of empowerment I receive, especially if others are asleep; it's almost as if I'm responsible for their well being as they rest.

It awakens the protector in me, so it's nice.

    I experience this.

I think part of it is because we have a pretty big house, so it seems very empty and creepy when it's all dark and silent and I'm the only one up. Every little sound creeps me out lol. But it's unlikely that I'm the only one up. My sister almost always goes to bad later than me--in fact, sometimes I'm the first to sleep -_-

I'm not really the "protector archetype" person; so maybe this is why I differ. XD

If I can spare the sleep, I don't mind it at all. Ever since I was a teen, I enjoyed staying up at night...reading, watching tv, creating games, writing...something empowering about it, almost like being the only person left on Earth, free from expectations or demands of others. One of the reasons I've never been a fan of birds is that they herald the dawn.

(And I don't even have Kasey's issue: I *love* thunder and lightning!)

I get being worried if you're the only person at home.

But the only one awake doesn't make a lot of sense to me: the alternative is everyone sleeping, which is surely more worrisome (not that either should be worrisome at all). When one person is awake, there's at least one person somewhat aware of security. If everyone is asleep, no one is. If you're not worried about everyone being asleep at the same time, just think that being the one person awake is even safer.

I've never really had this fear. I'm usually the last one to sleep in my house since I'm a night owl and the only time I might get a little paranoid is if I'm home alone at night which happens very rarely.

I like it, I even watch horror movies when I'm up late at night alone. Then I regret it if the movie is genuinely scary and I hug my cat.

I've always loved being the only person awake in the house, especially as a child, because I could be alone, but I still knew my parents were in the next room to protect me. I remember once sneeking out of my bed to look out the window at night while it was snowing: it was so peaceful and surreal.
