Favourite Music Genre?

    My favourites are pop punk and synthpop but I like almost all genres with the exceptions of screamo, hipster and modern hip-hop (apologies if you are fans of those).

    It tends to change but tends to hover around baroque music (don't know if that counts as a "genre" but I listen to it a lot, so), symphonic metal, and musical theatre (again, not really a genre but that's a whole different topic of discussion)

    I recently discovered breakcore, I can't say I've listened to enough of it to consider it a favourite but it's fast becoming one.

    Progressive, alternative, and punk rock, metal, and old-school emo (not real old school, but older than modern "emo")--30 Seconds to Mars, U2, Flyleaf, My Chemical Romance, Evanescence, Marilyn Manson, Nine-Inch Nails, Green Day, and Against Me! are my favorites. Also, one very specific subset of country, and that's Johnny Cash.

    Chiptune, it's always chiptune. While it's certainly my favorite I will take interest in others, namely piano and a few others.

    Though there are differences I'll throw "blast processed"/Megadrive under chiptune for the sake of simplicity.

    I'm quite picky when it comes to music, but most songs I like are either some form of rock (especially alternative and soft rock), some ballad type of song (usually in Spanish), or just up-tempo (e.g swing). =]

    My preference depends on my mood. If I'm down I prefer listening to metal as it always brings me out of a bad mood.

    If I'm feeling ok it could be metal, dance or pop. Though I occasionally like listening to The Hollies, The Beach Boys and Ellie Brooks as they were my dad's favourites

    Well almost everything. Mainly death metal then rock, pop, some anime songs or even classic music. Gotta say songs writen for my favourite games are awesome too ^^

    The best bands/singers for me are: Sabaton, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Tryhard Ninja, Mandopony, Living Tombstone, Lordi, Skillet, Set it off, Fall Out Boy ad thats not even half :slight_smile:

    I'm fairly open about most subgenres of rock and metal these days, more so if it's weird, gritty, and rough. I have a guilty love for pathogrind and goregrind, but I find stuff like pornogrind (even though it's a joke) to be boring and uninteresting.

    I listen to metal most of the time, mostly older stuff. My favorite though is heavy metal, just classic, hard and fast.
