Fasten your seatbelts

Today is day 1, and I want to keep some kind of journal or record of what has begun. The reason that today gets the honor of being declared day 1 is that today is the day that my wife and I agreed that we’re both much better off if I stop retreating from my gender identity. So from here on, it’s only forward. We agreed that we will move at a pace that works for both of us. We affirmed that we love each other, we want to and are prepared to do whatever work we need today, that we can both be flexible with our expectations, and that no matter what changes come in our relationship, the one thing that won’t change is that we love and support each other.

I’m going to try not to post (or use my phone) for the rest of the day. I want to be here for this, because I want to remember this day and the days to come. Thanks so much for the kindness and compassion everyone on here has shown me, I couldn’t have done it without you. I mean it from the bottom of my heart when I say I love you all. Ok, turning off the phone before I start crying
