The year is unknown. The world drifts silently through the darkness of space as stars and planets blink out of existence. The death of the universe is upon us. In a world that cannot be saved, how would you spend your final days? How hard would you fight to reach the end of the road?

Background: No-one really knows when or where they are anymore, and no-one remembers why the universe is dying. This event has gone on for a long time, and no living person can remember at time before the collapse.

    Character types:-
The Theorist- Goal is to discover the meaning behind the collapse.
The Saviour- Often found with the Theorists, Saviours want to save the world from its inevitable demise.
The Bandit- Takes advantage of the lack of order to steal, murder and cause chaos.
The Drifter?- Has no goal, only wants this all to end.
The Wanderer- Wants to live the good life while they still can.

(random question are the classes like actual social classes or simply the mentality of people?
Plus are there any problems (like food etc ) in a world that is close to ending or is that something everyone should define together while RP-Ing?)

Emmett warmed his hands on the fire. In the darkness, he could barely make out a barn in the distance, illuminated only by the moonlight of the dry sky.
He sat on the dusty ground, his gloved hands reaching out to the dancing light. Quiet music played from an old radio in the open boot of his car.
"The Wanderer" by Dion, a favourite of his. He delighted in the small things, and he'd be damned if this little song wasn't one of them.

He had chosen this spot purely because no-one in his right mind would choose this spot. This place had once been nothing but farmland, but had been reduced to dust over the years. It was a desert of sorts, but without the weather. And a barn in the middle of the desert just screams 'safety, shelter, blah, blah, blah'. And with nothing else for miles out, he knew that anyone with a brain would cosy up in the old barn and leave him the hell alone.

At least, that's what he hoped. With his compass and the barn as a marker, he'd be at Miss Lena's in no time at all. But first, sleep.

(They are mentalities. Classes don't really exist anymore. Food and water are in plentiful supply to some, and are hard to get ahold of for others. You can make any circumstances you like for your character, the only rules are that no-one knows what happened, and no-one can stop it. Other than that, its all up to you. )

    (thanks^^)

Anree had been walking for hours now the sky had turned black as night fell a while ago but she did not really care. There was a small reptile like creature that she had killed earlier that day and she had still enough water for a day or two so walking was the only thing left. Her time was always spend traveling going nowhere ,killing days, staying alive. Wake up. eat. walk. sleep .repeat. Somewhere above in the night sky there was a bright light flashing like a heartbeat before disappearing into the darkness, an exploding star maybe. A Long time ago in a bookshop that always smelled of leather and wood there had been a thick dusty book telling stories about old gods and tricksters and giants. In the book the gods had chained down a wolf for an old prophecy told them that he would end the world. The wolf was chained there for eternity until one day he and his siblings brought free and started a war against the gods. At the end the world ended bathed in blood. Anree wondered whether the wolf would have ended the world if they hadn't chained him up. Maybe he was just angry after being unfairly wronged? Maybe it would have been easier if the world had ended that way.
The landscape around was still a desert although there was supposedly a scientific research facility nearby. In the near distance she could see a barn...but there was also something else, small and near invisible, something flickering...was that...a fire?

(Sure thing  The more the merrier)

Emmett squinted, his eyes blurred by the alcohol. Movement near the barn, an animal, perhaps? He sighed; no such luck. There was a figure standing a short distance away from the barn, walking towards the old building.
    And then... they stopped.

"Oh, Christ." Emmett held as still as possible. Maybe they'd just go away? Maybe they wouldn't even see him? Nope. No, they definitely saw him. He sighed loudly. They'd either try to rob him or talk him to death, if past experience was anything to go off.
He loaded up his shotgun, muttering to himself as he did. "Just one bloody day..... bloody people always talking ........ think they'd have the common decency to....."

He shook his head as he sat back down. Ah well, perhaps they'd be fun?

    Name: Isobel
    Gender: Female
    Type: Drifter
Appearance: You could tell that she had been incredibly pale once by how fair her hair is, but days upon days spent in the sun and the elements had hardened her. She wears a beat up t-shirt that may have been grey when she got it, a threadbare hoodie under a clear rain-poncho, and khaki shorts that are a size too big.
Weapon of choice: whatever is on hand. Currently a crowbar.

It's dark. In the middle of the endless dust bowl Isobel ventured into days ago, not even crickets broke the gentle silence. The petite teenager hadn't so much set up camp as plunk down in the middle of the road and lay down. If someone came across her, so be it. It wouldn't be the first time she had been robbed, and probably wouldn't be the last. These things happen.

A breeze stirred up goosebumps on her covered arms. Isobel shuddered and rolled onto her side, rubbing comforting circles around her shoulders. She won't start a fire. She doesn't need one. If shes lucky, she'll freeze to death in her sleep. If she's not, she'll just get up and keep walking.

Isobel blinks some sandy grit out of her eyes and stares at the remaining stars slowly coming up over the horizon. The land is so flat that you can see straight to the end of the world. If it exists, and she lives to see it, Isobel figures that's the day she'll work up the courage to jump. Until then she'll keep trekking, keep stumbling across buildings with scraps of food, keep somehow finding enough water to keep her pissing.

Somewhere people are trying to survive, fighting for it, and failing. And then there's Isobel, not caring if she lives or dies, and alive all the same.

    Life's a bitch.

Emmett couldn't remember when it got so empty. Sure, there were still towns and cities, but he tended to avoid them. Too many bandits. Assholes who made it hard for normal people to go about their lives, not without fearing for their own safety.
It was easier to deal with them out here. Out here, they didn't have the numbers, they didn't know the streets, and they had nowhere to hide.
Thank the lord for wide open spaces.
The emptiness wasn't unwelcome, however; On the contrary, Emmett found it relaxing to be able to just set down, without having to worry too much about what might be lurking in the shadows.

Anree slowly moved closer to the flickering light. Now that the distance was shorter she could hear the faint tune of music coming from small speakers.
She could see a person...a man. Anree's heart stopped..he was...looking directly at her. She could feel the panic seeping into her bones: What if he worked for the scientific faculties? What if he would tell people he saw her? No...she couldn't risk that.
Anree gripped her knives tightly and started to make her way to the stranger. The worst that could happen was her death and if she was honest with herself the thought made her feel relieved.
The fire came closer and then she was face to face with the stranger.

Blake opens his eyes and sits up. He is in a bedroom, not his own. He stayed in an abandoned house he found. Nothing around him is his, except a messenger bar sitting on a table which contains his gun, a sickle, and a note book. Blake gets out of the bed and grabs his bag. He steps outside of the house and is blinded by the unforgiving sun. He looks around and sees the remains of a few houses within this dust bowl.

It wasn't the sun that woke Isobel, she had long grown accustom to the soft light of the early morning, and her back was to the dawn. No, it was the wind that roused her, a northern gust that swept through her jacket and leeched the heat from her bones. The young girl was up in an instant, pulling on her plastic poncho and gathering her things. Wind like that meant rain, and rain in the dust bowl meant mud. Isobel needed to find a bed off the ground before everything went to shit.

And so she continued her march down the sun-cracked road. Warmth slowly crept up behind her, dashed away by intermittent winds only to gradually return as the day came forth. The curve of the earth in front of her gave way to only more dirt for miles, until suddenly the cloudless sky was blemished by the haze of buildings.

Glancing behind her, Isobel noted that the sun wasn't yet high enough for the sight to be a mirage. She licked her cracked lips and winced at the taste of blood. Her kingdom for some chapstick.

She could see the storm clouds in the very edge of the horizon. A sudden gust of wind chilled Isobel's nose and spurred her forward. The sun would be high in the sky by the time she reached the structures to the west. By the looks of the clouds, it would be a full rotation before the storm was upon her.

Isobel continued forward, wind blowing her dry hair across her face, with the knowledge that she was very very lucky.

    Goddamnit.

Emmett stared at the stranger, who stood silently before him. "Oi love, you lost?"

In the distance, the sun was beginning to rise.

    [200 days left]
