I'm a fan of good acapella. There are a handful of 'nsync and 98 degrees songs I still listen to. 'nsync is actually talented, as I've heard recordings of them without any pitch correction or processing. Not sure about 98 degrees. But those are pretty guilty pleasures for me.
They aren't really 'bands' but Spice Girls and Disney soundtracks are two of my music guilty pleasures.
I LOVE Pentatonix, but personally, I wouldn't put them in "guilty pleasures" because I don't think anyone credible can deny their extraordinary talent, in composition, arranging, and vocal performance.
Oh I'm not denying their talent at all! They're absolutely brilliant artists and performers. I only consider them a guilty pleasure because my music taste largely consists of rock and metal music so they're quite far out of my generic music bubble.
Probably just k-pop boybands like SHINee, BTS, and 1:43. People always kind of laugh if a guy says he loves k-pop but hey I'm gay so I get a free pass.
I see everyone else is going for pretty vanilla stuff - I guess the only thing I have in that category is Lady Gaga. I mean c'mon though, what queer person doesn't listen to her every now and then? As for bands that I feel actual guilt for listening to... Pantera definitely comes to mind. It's not explicit but they've certainly let a little neo-Nazi sentiments slip from time to time. Still love their music but I definitely feel somewhat guilty listening to them. And who knows, with all the black and death metal I listen to, caring very little about what the lyrics say, there may well be plenty of other bands I ought to be guilty about listening to. I'm sure my father and many a conservative would have me feel guilty about some of the rap I'll listen to from time to time, but...**** those racist dicks.
I wouldn't call it a "Band" per say, but yes. I do have this one artist by the name of "Ken Ashcorp", he makes... Well let's just say songs about less than wholesome subjects. Though, otherwise no. Most of what I listen to is something I would listen to with no shame.
Not a band, but honestly some of Justin Bieber's earlier stuff is really good. The new stuff not so much, but older 2012ish era things like 'as long as you love me' were great. I will never admit this in person, never ever.
Aqua. Back in the day a friend and I had a whole bit we did to "Barbie Girl." Seriously, the dance floor would clear and people would just watch. I'm a very different person now, so it's a little embarrassing but I'm glad I got to be that person too, so no harm no foul...
Yes, Godsmack, Lacuna Coil, Linkin Park are all bands I listened to when I was going through some very challenging times in my life, especially during adolescence. On one hand, their familiar sounds put a smile on my face because I know I went through it all and survived. On the other hand, I would like to move on and not identify as a 'survivor', I don't want to make these things I went through a part of me, I want to leave them where they belong, in the past. Yet sometimes, I still listen to songs by these bands. Hence they' re my 'guilty pleasure' bands.
I've been listening to the stereophonics.... Three great songs, maybe tomorrow, Mr writer and handbags and gladrags which I know is a cover version....beg u to listen!!! REM...losing my religion.... Not a band but madonna epic.....album 14 about to be released, she's had 13 number 1 singles in UK chart.....and as a gay guy....can't resist.....
