Do you think shoes reveal personality?

I don't really think they do. I rarely pay attention to what shoes people wear, but apparently people love to judge what shoes they wear. Shoe shopping in my town sucks anyways. You either get high heels, flats that fall apart in two weeks or sneakers most of the time. I hate shoe shopping, so I usually buy $100-200 leather shoes once or twice a year and forget about them the rest of the year. Based on how people analyze shoes, people probably think I'm super duper laid back. I'm not. I'm actually pretty anxious. You just wouldn't know that by looking at my goddamn shoes.

I don't think they can tell much about personality, but I think it could give a sense of one's style and the way they present themselves.

I'm the biggest wimp I know, but I spent my entirety of my high school years wearing combat boots. So no, I don't really think so.

It was just hard to find stylish boots where I live and they were comfortable so I wore them until I finally found a nice pair. If I could make my own however, they'd definitely give a few "hints".

Given that I have to wear my work boots to combat the snow outside, I certainly hope no one thinks they reveal my personality.

Seriously though, I don't think shoes show off anyone's personality. Maybe you could say they reveal that person's style, but even then, it's a bit of a stretch.

I thought the title was "Do you think shoes reveal the size?"

I dont know. What does it mean when all I have are sneakers with different shades of green?

Especially when shoe shopping sucks in their town.

I just wear whatever shoes are suitable for the occasion. I don't think it says anything about me.

They say about social class, habits (if you don't care walking around on dirty, or broken shoes), and many other things. They don't have to be a confirmation if you should trust that person with your life, or if that person is of what some call good moral character.

If shoes tell you about personality then I'm unpredictable because I have so many different styles, colors and quality.

I have those cheap cotton black chinese mary janes all the way to knee high full real leather high heel 400$ boots.

So yea. I don't take a whole lot of stock in that concept.

Shoe knows... there are endless possibilities, especially when considering that many people have more than one pair of shoes.

I think the judgement someone makes based on someone else's shoes might reveal more about the person making the judgement, than a pair of shoes reveal about its owner.

This is not me condemning anyone for judging someone else by their shoes. What I'm saying is that we don't see things as they are, we see things through ourselves.

No, shoes may reflect one's taste, but not necessarily personality. My rule of thumb is to buy high quality shoes that will last beyond fashion trends, but then I have an eight and a half EEE. So Gucci driving shoes are sadly never on my shopping list. I have to shop brands that will fit. Go bless Ferragamo for making a stylish shoe in widths. Business environments will also dictate what should and should not be worn. Such is the burden of being a man.

Women shoes I think are much more reflective of personality. There are more choices: styles, materials, color, patterns, price points. Women also have the freedom to express themselves without the same restrictions men face in the workplace.

Choice of shoes doesn't necessarily reveal the personality. But the conditions of the shoes might. My shoes are in various states of brokenness, enough to say I'm a lazy and sloppy person
And who knows, maybe Sherlock can tell my personality from that speck of dust on my shoes!

I don't think so. However I REALLY do give a fuck about shoes... Probably because the dances I used to practice were focused on footwork.

Well, I actually wonder what my shoes would say about me .

My shoe collection runs the whole gamut. You will either love them or hate them.

These are my shoes in my rotation:

8-year-old black Crocs
[IMG]

Nubuck Sperry's
[IMG]

Classic Sperry's
[IMG]

Black Allen Edmonds Lasalle Oxfords

New Balance shoes for overpronators
[IMG]

Ariat roper boots
[IMG]

That's about my entire shoe collection that I use on a semi-regular basis. I'm sure I have other shoes I don't use that often.

I suppose, to an extent. Some people pick based on comfort and some pick based on looks, so I guess it could show the slightest of personality.
