I would describe it as mostly thinking in feelings or sensations. Every once in a while I get a running monologue going, and occasionally that monologue adopts the voice of Ricky Gervais. Which is fun.

I mostly think in words. I find it weird that most people are mostly visual. I sometimes think in pictures, but that mostly happens with specialized things. I also think in pictures if I'm falling asleep.

Mostly pictures, I have a great memory for visual information, not so great with words and numbers...

    Mostly pictures.
Which is why I'm bad at remembering street names.
I always remember locations by images of nearby buildings or environments.

The only time I think in words is when I imagine myself in a conversation or if I have something to write and have been mulling over it.

It really baffles me that other people think in words primarily. Is it like when sentences are used to have the characters in a story "think out loud"? I just can't imagine a constant narration of my thoughts. It sounds so weird to me.

For me, I sometimes envision the words. Like, I see the letters. Though for me they appear phonetically (in IPA or some mix), which can be annoying.

It's not like thinking out loud for me, because that tires me a little actually (it cost energy for me to do that :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: ). When people tell me a story, I can try to make images appear, but it definitely doesn't happen naturally. Usually my mind is blank, nice and calm, with nothing appearing.

I'm not sure if it's connected to thinking in words only, but for me, remembering names (second names and last names included obviously) is very easy and I barely ever think about what I'm going to say.

Oh, a side note, I'm pretty bad at remembering numbers. I can easily remember complicated and long names, but place some number behind them and I forget all those numbers. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I think in words unless im reading then it sorta creates a movie inside my mind. Other than reading i think in words i often think its because of how much i read that caused this. Most of my memories i als cant picture but i know them as words and can recount without the pictures. Its a downfall whe i try to picture friends faces.

I always think in pictures. sometimes also in both pictures and words, just like my thoughts were narrated. (I've heard it's not normal, but who cares )

Pictures. When people tell me a story I always see it happen in my head. When I have to drive somewhere, I remember it from looking at a map before, or from looking at Streetview pictures. I'm also very bad with street names, to the point where I don't even know the name of the street around the back of my apartment block.

I think it's 60% words and 40% pictures for me. I'm used to think in both ways, but usually when I'm thinking about something not much important or only for a while, it's words, whereas when I need to focus I tend to think more in pictures.

I think of just about everything in pictures...I can't think of a time I've thought in words, I feel like an odd duck now, but I didn't know people thought in words..:icon_redf

It's complicated. I picture me talking to 3 version of me in a Huge black hall but I only see the image when I'm not concentrating hard on another talk. On average, I just have a dialogue between 3 people like they're speaking without an image because I'm often thinking about something else at the same time

I think that I think in thoughts, though I often I hear things I think with voices, and see them as images at the same time.
