I pray before eating, during the day to give thanks to something, and again at night before I sleep. I've never gone a day without praying

I meditate, albeit not as often as I used to--frankly I think my life is just less chaotic than it used to be.

I actually once spent a month in a Tibetan monastery in Bodhgaya taking a vipassana meditation course. It was really interesting. Initially I had a bit of a hard time because one of my knees would hurt quite badly even when I sat in half lotus which made it difficult to maintain focus. One of the monks suggested that rather than focusing on my breathing I should focus on the pain, try to feel nothing but the pain, think about nothing but the pain. I wasn't quite sure how all that would go down but I gave it a shot and, just like he said it would, my mind wanted so desperately to wander, to not maintain focus, that the pain went away. It was amazing. We did walking meditations and as the course went on we did multiple progressively longer seated meditations each day. It was strange because it felt like such hard work, corralling your mind and continually drawing it back but apparently on some level it was deeply restful--by the end of the course most of us had pretty much stopped sleeping entirely.

It was a really amazing experience.

Oh that sounds really great , I also plan to go to meditation center next month for 15 days just to learn how to meditate properly
