I think I'd be better around babies and young children if I had grown up around them. I've literally never spent any significant amount of time with them. My cousin however had several infant siblings when she was a teenager and now she's really good with children.

I like to keep them at a distance. I'm not very maternal at all.

Oh, that's awful! I personally love babies, and would love to someday have one. I can see why they may make some people anxious, though.

Nope, but then I've had two children myself. I also have to X-Ray neonates, babies, young children and beyond as part of my job, so such anxiety would be a problem.

    Happy days

I don't even understand why people find them cute, they are quite ugly to me

I don't have anxiety about babies but the thought of one in me makes me sick and shakey. Adoption ftw.

I agree every time I mention adopting a child I get looked at weird. It's more acceptable to makes babies than take care of the ones that need a home.

Pretty much. I don't get it, they all look kinda like Jabba the Hutt the first few months anyway, how is that cute? No one thinks Jabba is cute.

Nope. I love babies, I just don't want to have any! The sound of a baby crying does make me extremely anxious though. It doesn't annoy me even if it's constant but I can't seem to relax. Must be some maternal instinct thing. Pfft.

Well, yeah. Mainly young children because they are too hyper on an average. Many parents, at least where I'm from in Eastern US, let there kids behave like monsters it's stressful. Leans me towards getting a vasectomy. As long as it's not by accident or sadly forced, it's a choice I just don't respect society pushing a kid for everyone. Not everyone is cut out to be a parent.

I love my nephews to death but just too much energy for ol listless me. Then losing sleep over crying or fighting, no thanks. If I'm making the second coming of Christ then maybe(ha I don't even believe in any religion but different topic) but until then I'm satisfied with not ever having kids.

I don't know how to interact with them, like I wasn't raised up around them and when I was around them I was very young myself so I really don't know how to be around small children. five and up I'm okay with, but anything under that and I just turn into an aloof/anxious mess.

I dislike kids in general, so yes babies give me anxiety.

I enjoy babies generally, but really only feel completely comfortable with my own. Even then, it took a couple of months for that to happen. I had never spent any time with babies until I had one, and I didn't know anything -- how to hold him, how to change a nappy. He seemed terribly fragile and utterly inscrutable. Now, though, I know that he's actually quite sturdy and I've come to understand his individual needs and preferences, and I get anxious when he's not around. I can say with complete honesty that he's the person I love most in the world, and he's only one year old. It's pretty intense.

Sorta. I hate being around babies, since I'm constantly afraid of dropping them, of getting them hurt somehow. When I watch my baby brother,I will just sit there holding him and making sure he is breathing while he sleeps, and yell at anybody who comes anywhere near with something that he could possibly choke on.

I wouldn't say they give me anxiety, but since I was the youngest growing up I wasn't around babies much. However, I think I've improved after I lived with my nephew for awhile.

I generally like kids, but don't always know what to do with them LoL

yes, all of the above for me. I get anxious, I do not like them, and do not want any of my own. I do not like looking at them. I have only held like one or two, and felt sure I was going to drop it. I have as little contact with babies as possible. I go out of my way to avoid them

Hah! Babies and kids in general. They can be a trigger for me actually, believe it or not. And I work with a ton of them every day . . . *sigh.* Such is my life.
