    No. The fun of glue was putting it on my fingers, waiting for it to dry, and peeling it off. It was very exciting.

    I've certainly swallowed a small amount of toothpaste a few times, out of curiosity. But glue? Nope.

    Can't say I advocate it either!

    I was reading about it, and it contains flour, water, clove oil and alum, which is what probably gave it that somewhat 'minty' smell. But I do recall kids eating it around 1st grade.

    It's a curious meme in the culture of growing up/school, though.

    I didn't vote because I didn't understand what paste was. Now, have I eaten the dough to make crescent rolls and cookies? Yes. And I didn't get sick. People have gotten sick doing this. Eating it is fairly common because it actually tastes reasonably good.

    I never ate glue, but I remember once I grabbed a glue stick thinking it was chapstick and put it on. it clearly made my lips together and I remember getting mad that I couldn't open my mouth.
