Crushes on fictional characters: Does anyone else feel this way or am I just weird??

    Recently, I have discovered that I really like having crushes on fictional characters from books, movies and tv shows! It's so much more relaxing than crushes on real people, and they can't disappoint or hurt you. They're just there, inside your mind, so you can think of them whenever you want. They never stress you out, and you don't risk running into them at the store or getting your heart broken because they get into a relationship with someone else.

    Does anyone else feel this way, or am I just weird?

    I don't feel that way but I understand what you mean because the are fiction they cant hurt you because they are not real so no I don't think you are weird

    I think it is pretty normal to have a thing for fictional characters. I have had several and still have a few.

    Heck no! It's completely normal! And don't let anyone tell you otherwise, ha ha. Many fictional characters in cartoons, TV Shows and Books helped my sexual awakening and helped me get through my questioning phase. :slight_smile:.

    I've had one or two crushes on fictional characters, but also on celebrities/musicians. Again - there's a very low risk that I would ever meet them in the local store.

    Hi guys!
    I'm so glad to hear that you feel the same way as I do! I feel a lot less like a freak now!

    I fully agree that it does help a lot to have crushes on fictional characters or celebrities/ musicians in order to figure out ones sexuality and move past the questioning phase. (In fact, that was one of the things that made me change my orientation status here from questioning to bisexual! I still don't feel certain that bisexual is the right label for me, but at least I'm not questioning the fact that I like girls anymore, so it felt right to change that <3)
