I'm going to come out to my dad tomorrow, and I'm just realising I have no idea how to approach the subject. I was planning to just be like "I have something to tell you... I'm transgender" but he doesn't deal with stressful situations very well and I now feel like that might be too abrupt.

I also don't really want to go all storytime with it and build up to it by telling him how I knew, because I tend to start dissociating whenever I have to describe my feelings out loud and while it will probably happen at some point, I don't want to get into that state before the conversation has even started.

I suppose I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to how I could ease him into it a little bit? I might be overthinking it, maybe there isn't a more gentle way to approach it, but I want to make it as easy as possible for both of us.
