I think that it is a good option. Many people come out during the holidays because the whole family is there.
I guess it all depends. There are advantages, but also disadvantages. You have to judge according to your own family. For me, it would have been pretty hard for my family to take during a time they were already stressed.
Depends on how they’re likely to take it and what else is going on with your family. I wouldn’t, but it’s because it will likely be severely relationship damaging for me and part of my family. They’re extremely homophobic. That said, I did tell my brother last Christmas just because I knew he was likely to take it ok and it’s one of the few times a year I physically see him. Just depends.
I'm voting no, for the same reason I think announcing engagements or pregnancies on holidays or other special days is a no. Its a bit self centered and attention seeking. Already enough stuff going on and not everyone is going to be supportive or think of it positively.
