I was referring to some prominent physicists (including, I believe, Stephen Hawking) saying some things about philosophy that upset the philosophers. I wouldn't be surprised if philosophers had similar attitudes toward physicists.

Physics and philosophy have similar goals, so I think anyone who is interested in one ends up dealing with the other eventually. It's more a matter of whether you try to educate yourself about both, or whether you choose to ignore one and run into problems when they cross paths.

I'm second year. E/M is a second semester course, but my school does its physics courses weird so that the first real physics course is only taught in the spring. Classical mechanics doesn't refer to just basic Newtonian mechanics, which is what most first year courses teach. I mean, there are graduate courses on the subject. The one I'm taking is meant to be a second year course.

Phew... lol, and I know E/M is second year but I already got credit through AP's for Newtonian Mech... actually, I also got credit for this E/M class with AP.... but I'm just retaking it because I finished almost all first year classes >.< LOL... I really need to talk with my advisor on what to do... i Kinda dont want to redo it since I think I have a solid understanding getting a 5 on the AP but I know college courses aren't exactly on par with the AP either... I still want more credits though xD
