LGBT News CNN short docu about transgender boy supported by parents

I always find news like these problematic...
...on one hand transitioning as early as possible could be a good thing and make the transition look more closely like the preferred sex.
....on the other hand i don't believe that a child should be able to make such decisions. Being trans comes with a lot of drawbacks and problems (finding partners, medical problems, dependency on hormones, being sterile, social unacceptance etc) that a child simply cannot understand.
I think people should wait with translation until a certain age since i think 50-80% of afab s questioning their gender turn out to be cis after puberty.
He should be able to id and to be treated like a boy...but such huge life changing decisions should wait until he is older.
