A regular member (I'm a full member, in case that matters) asked me a question in a visitor post, but when I try to view the conversation and reply, I get a security/error message about the person limiting who can see her profile. Is there a way to reply? I tried "following", but that didn't seem to help.
    Thanks

Hi, I'm sorry about that, I have my security setting that way! I followed you back just now, so it should work.

As DirectionNorth has alluded to, there's a privacy setting which allows users to restrict profile and/or wall messaging access to only those they follow. In other words, you wouldn't be able to message a member unless the recipient was following you, even if you follow them.

It's a setting which is entirely controlled by the members, so there's nothing we can really do from the staff side of things. If they have asked a question and seem to be expecting a reply which you can't give, you could always prod the staff and we can send them a message letting them know of the problem. It might be that they aren't entirely aware of how they've set it, so we can assist with that.
