At the moment I'm really into Pulp and Astronautalis

Astronautalis I think is better appreciated live, especially in his freestyles and Pulp are classic.

Most of the cool artists have been listed above, but I haven't seen Melanie Martinez being mentioned. Definitely worth a try!

In no particular order or style...

Pixies, Breeders, Shonen Knife, Cibo Matto, Boredoms, Melt-Banana, GO!GO!7188, Ramones, Clash, Sufjan Stevens, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Babymetal, Kara, OOIOO, Electric Eel Shock, XTC, Utada Hikaru, Namie Amuro, New Pornographers, any of the stuff on the Scott Pilgrim soundtrack, Gorillaz, Buffalo Daughter...

    Ugh. Out of steam.

I think for recommendations, im just going to get a post from an older post by myself up, and then post albums, since I find it harder to go by individual songs most of the time.

Damon Albarn- Everyday Robots (literally his only solo album at the moment...)
[right, so the next 2 artists I mention are technically also damon, and he was in Blur so...you can tell who I listen to a lot of XD]

Gorillaz- Unless you were living under a rock in 2006, you would already know about Demon Days, so id recommend Plastic Beach, their less popular album. Its still Fantastisch.

The Good, The Bad and the Queen-THE FULL ALBUM GO BUY IT RIGHT NOW ITS SO FREAKING BRILLIANT.

Blur- oh my precious group, This is a really really hard one because for the most part, I love everything except their first album, so Listen to everything but Leisure?

The Beatles [Ill make this one a big one because im going to go into solo stuff as well]
id just say listen to all of their albums. Same for John Lennon and George Harrison. However, for Paul McCartney, I reckon you should stick to anything he was involved in, and stop before you get to anything he did in the 80s, because that's where he starts falling apart... and just avoid Ringo as he didn't really make anything that great

Brian Wilson- Pet Sounds and SMiLE. Thoes albums are perfect (even though SMiLE wasnt technically completed)

The Kinks- While most would most likely recommend the album Face to Face, I would start off with The Kinks are the Village Green Society.

Graham Coxon- JUST EVERYTHING HE HAS MADEEE I LOVE IT ALL. But so you have a place to start, Try the album Love Travels at Illegal speeds if your into more mellow indie rock, or go with A&E if you enjoy some heavier sounds.

Tame Impala- Some awesome Psychadelic Rock, would recommend the album Currents and Innerspeaker.

Pink Floyd- Hard one, bout will just stick to Dark Side of the Moon (Would recommend listening to it with a pair of headphones and in a time where you wont be distracted), and The Wall (watch the film, tis the album with imagery and its deeeeeeeep)

Sean Lennon- ANOTHER ALBUM YOU HAVE TO JUST BUY STRAIGHT AWAY, FREINDLY FIRE IS SO GOD. I WANT MORE OF THIS FROM SEAN BUT AT THE SAME TIME I LOVE THE PSYCADELIC ROCK STUFF HES DOING I CRI SO HARD

Elliott Smith- I love everything Elliott put out, but id be insane if I didn't tell you to purchase XO or Figure 8 right away, they are perfection.

Hopefully that's given you a lot to listen to. There's always heaps more I can recommend.

Amy Winehouse - her vocal talent was seriously beyond measure. Even if you don't like her voice itself, her technique was incredible + you never for once doubt that she's being truthful when she sings.

Carly Rae Jepsen - Run Away With Me is one of the best pop tracks of the 21st century. It didn't do much to the charts but the critics freaking love the single and Carly's album, E.MO.TION.

Anyone who likes good pop music will love Emotion.

I might recommend some of my music, but how can I be sure if your ears won't fall off after listening to it?

Listen to the album Aaliyah - Aaliyah. One of the best R&B albums of the new millennium. Sad that she died while promoting this album. It's also timeless with a futuristic vibe to it.

Oh, and back when I was a big fan of InuYasha, I was really into the J-pop band Do As Infinity. They're pretty boss.

I really suggest you to listen to twenty one pilots, especially the songs from No Phun Intended, Regional At Best and Vessel.

They make music which helps me with depression and sometimes just makes my mood go up, but sometimes I cry to it. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I'd recommend anything by Jean Michel Jarre. He is a synthesizer god. My favorite album of his is "Revolutions", but all his music is amazing.
