Hello, Just called my mother who lives in Florida. She's a nurse, still working down there and enjoying life with Husband No. 4 (long story). I told her that I am gay. Those of you who know me also know that my sister has been living with HIV for the past 20 years, so she was naturally concerned. It went well enough however, but she cautioned me with every gay stereotype known to man, nevertheless she is accepting (does she have a choice? I'm 52 for crying out loud!) So chalk that down to another biggy. Onward goes the march to freedom, halleluyah!
I can't even repeat the things she said (facepalm) but she is definitely of an older generation who has been exposed to some fairly negative stereotypes in the Florida area that she frequents...all in good fun, I love shocking her every few years! :badgrin:
