So I thought I'd share my experience! Yesterday we went for a hike. We were talking about stuff and then my mom wanted me to talk and I didn't know what to talk about so I asked her to suggest a topic or something and she said sexuality. I laughed nervously and then didn't say anything. Then I said that I guess that I could tell her something. Then I wanted her to guess but she wanted me to say it (i'm not sure if she guessed at this point) so I said it. And started crying. I wasn't prepared to tell her yesterday, I just couldn't avoid it at that point. It wouldn't have worked to just try to avoid the topic. After that she said thank you for telling me and she told me about how she fell in love with a woman when she was around my age. Then, she asked me how I knew and other things like that. But today I am so happy that I finally did it. such a relief. I couldn't help but smile a huge smile today!
Thanks for sharing with us and it's great that your mom introduced the subject and offered you the opportunity to talk. That was pretty clever of her actually and probably came about after she'd picked up some clues.
Congratulations peachy06!That was a very courageous thing to do, especially since you weren't really prepared to Come Out to her at that point. But her accepting reaction was wonderful!
Thanks for brightening my day. Moms are the best to have on your side. (Dads and siblings are close behind of course.) And moms that go hiking with their daughters are double-good.
