Today, I accidentally came out to my brother. Surprisingly, he was very supportive and assured me that he wouldn't tell anyone and would let me come out to the rest of the family when I was ready. But, it's been really awkward lately whenever I'm around him. He's almost... too polite? too nice, too careful around me. We've always had a relationship where we tend to be a bit hostile towards each other in a joking way, but now it's weird. I kinda regret ever telling him, but there's no going back now. I just feel strange, now that this looming threat of people finding out I'm lesbian has been at least somewhat removed from my life.
Congratulations stingrays!I"m glad that your brother was so accepting! It's not unusual to feel a bit odd after Coming Out. (I liken it to buyer's remorse.) But things will most likely return to normal for you very shortly.
