THANK YOU. lol. Finally someone understands. My criticisms weren't directed at you by the way. I was just remembering a forum post where someone asked "How can you be a lesbian if you enjoy sex with men for pleasure?" and it got a lot of heat from people who were offended by it. The whole point of being gay is that you don't desire to sleep with the opposite sex. If you're doing because you're closeted, I understand, since It's not your real desire, you're just faking it till you make it. I can also somehow understand if you can't find any available women, but in all honesty, It's really easy to find casual sex with other women IMO because of the popularity of being bicurious. I have to fend bicurious women off as a lesbian who only cares about a relationship right now, It's easy to find sex but hard to find love. So It's hard for me to fully get it.

As for porn, I think straight men are given viagra to get them to perform.

I'm sure there are women available for sex on craigslist and countless apps too, but instead they seek men intentionally which makes them either bi or gay. I wouldn't be surprised if some of these guys voted for our discrimination, bullied gay guys or worse and continue to demean us all to protect their fragile identities.

These guys have a warped idea of what it means to be gay, like many people do and I did at one time. They think gay = feminine, girly, wimp, etc. and they aren't those things so therefore aren't gay in their minds. If we all had been raised with the right definition of human sexuality and all were respected equally there would be no need to make up new names to soothe their insecurities. The problem is too many masculine gay men don't come out, they date and marry women and hide so the stereotype of gay men as feminine continues. Imagine if all the athletes and other icons of masculinity who are gay or bi came out and stopped living a lie with women then the idea of gay = fem would crumble or at least it would help. I contend that most gay guys are average, ordinary guys that don't fit the gay stereotype.

On a personal level it pisses me off I could know a few guys like this who would have been great to be with, but instead they married women to appease homophobic family and society. Maybe they'll find their way to EC someday.

Prison is probably the only place where straight men can "turn" gay and when they get out to never again have sex with the same gender. That being said, this 'bud-sex' thing is just as pathetic as women who claim they're straight while enjoying lesbian sex. If you have the opposite sex option at hand but you choose to hook up with the same sex you're definitely at least bi.

As for stereotypes, I do hate them, but what I hate more is gay men shaming feminine gay men. That completely makes me lose it.

^Basically the absolute best way to say it.

Ah! Viagra makes sense. I actually saw a movie once about a man who was in a relationship with a woman, but he was a porn star in gay videos. He had to have someone give him a blow job in order for him to get an erection. Very interesting movie, actually.

Agreed, the out loud and proud guys and gals are the brave ones I respect for all the work they did/do to make the world a better place for LGBTQ and other marginalized people. (!)

This reminds me of the term "men who have sex with men" (MSM) used by epidemiologists to avoid relying on identities like "gay, bisexual, etc.." and focus on sexual activity. I understand it can seem like someone cheating about their orientation, but there will be people who resist labels due to different reasons.

It honestly makes my blood boil. I say this because I heard the stories of guys doing this, and I know the guys would be the ones to bully/say off-color comments about gays.

I think this is a problem with our in between culture. Like, either we need to label EVERYTHING or nothing at all.

Who are as, human beings, to judge who these men sleep with or call it? Is it any different that some preacher telling us we are all going to hell? No one should judge another person until they walk in their shoes. The young people don't realize what it was like years ago across most of this country when you could get your ass kicked in school if anyone even thought you were gay...if that's what they do and that's what they have to call it so be it.

My sister was just talking about this today with me. She says that she feels even if you have sex with the same sex that doesn't mean you are gay because sexual attraction is different than romantic attraction. She said you could be a man that only has sex with men but identify as straight because you are romantically attracted to women even if you never have sex with them.

Some people in rural areas just masturbate. Some will mess around with someone of the same gender. Bud-Sex might be shorthand for that. I've also heard "helping a buddy out." I call it bisexual. When straight people start having sex with their own gender, that tells me there are a lot of bisexuals around.

Gays and lesbians have straight sex and nobody argues that they aren't gay because of it. There is an over reliance on facts in some of the earlier opinions and less consideration for the myriad ways that humans sexually express and enjoy themselves. Human sexuality is under studied and frequently misunderstood. To make the assertion that these men have to be gay is to rely on incomplete information and comes off as judgemental.

The LGBT community is heavily invested in the idea that this is all inborn, can't be changed and is not a choice. For many it isn't but that doesn't mean it isn't for some. None of us have the ability to see in someone's head to know what they're thinking and feeling.

I kinda think that there's fuzzy edges to the kinsey scale, it doesn't go all the way to zero or six, just 0.001 and 5.999 - you can be completely gay or completely straight, but somewhere there's an exception.

I think they're just (at least somewhat) bisexual guys who just can't see themselves as anything other than straight. Oh well, I thought I was straight until I was 16 and had been sexually active with other boys for a while by then. haha.

Honestly, is just sounds like a GLBT subculture to me. A bit of a self loathing one, but still a subculture. Now I can understand the idea that in some rural areas, there's not going to be many women around, like if you live on a remote farm or something and the nearest small town is thirty miles away. And what if on top of that you're poor and don't even own a car?

I don't know, guys, I hear sex can be just sex, and can feel good from the mechanical perspective regardless of gender.

Man, I thought we already put "bro-job" to the trash and now we're going to have to deal with this? What's next ? "Man-rim" ?

...Okay, I'm not gonna lie, before I went into this thread, I didn't think about the "no homo" sex cover up that it actually has and I...I thought of Air Bud.
Which made the thread like 500x weirder from title alone.

*clears throat* Anyway...if they were using the term "Bud-sex" as a cover so they aren't uncloseted without their consent or to protect themselves (I live in a rural area, I get that it's hard), then I'd be okay with it. However that...doesn't seem like the case. And for that I just...I mean if that's what label you're gonna go with so be it, I guess, but I think you might wanna take a bit of self reflection there, buckos. Same goes for...really anything of this caliber.

In a way it seems...biphobic. To say that you're going to identify as straight and sleep with the same sex and vice versa. And that's a wee bit upsetting to me.
