LGBT News Brewer Vetoes SB 1062

    Brewer herself has hinted that she might try to run for another term, arguing that since she has only been elected governor once, and that her inheritance of the position with the departure of Janet Napolitano didn't constitute a full term, that term limits do not to apply to her. Her lawyers have claimed there is grey area in terms of the constitutional term limits. Though I'm not sure a court would agree with her, nor do I think she is likely to try to fight this out for a 3rd term, she's already 70 this year. Apparently it would be up to Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett (R) to decide whether to accept her filing to run for another term.

    She's not going to get another term.

    And her veto pretty much pissed off the Republican Arizona legislature, so it's not really true to say she did it for political gain when there's not much to ... gain politically.
