I know why. Because Bioware is the fookin' man. They have elevated western RPGs to a nuanced art form. Bethesda is hot on their tail with Elder Scrolls and Fallout, and their brand is just as special. But Bioware has a rare touch.

IDK, I thought 2 was a slip towards generic tactical shooter, but 3 mostly cleaned it up. Until the ending, that is. The game itself was *almost* perfect otherwise.

Hmm I really don't know I mean there are so many different games and based on different factors they have been the best ones I've ever played.

BUT I don't think no other game than Journey has ever left me more impressed than I was when I completed it. It's just magical. I'm not a graphic-douche, it's not something I really care about, but gosh... Journey is just simply beautiful. The visuals are great, the music is amazing. It's purely just so intuitive and I had the joy to complete the whole story with the same person and it was just so beautiful. He'd wait for me and I'd wait for him. Nice to see someone come up with such an innovative idea to make co-op work with total strangers.

I love the first two Bioshocks (third one kinda lost it for me) just the ending music alone will make me tear up. Don't play little sister quotes or I'll start screaming "OMG I GOTTA PLAY NOW!!"

Spyro The Dragon (PS1) will forever be my favourite game. But it's not the best game that I've ever played.

In terms of the actual story of the game (not the mechanics) it would probably be a three way tie. Mass Effect (the original/first one), Heavy Rain, and Fallout: New Vegas.

Mass Effect had an amazing story-line. The plot was well written, and even though there was hours of minor missions/not main plotline content, it wasn't used as filler. You could play the whole main plot if you wanted, and it would still take awhile. A lot of games (including a lot of the new stuff that BioWare is putting out) incorporate filler to make the game seem longer and more complete. ME1 didn't need to do that. Really a fantastic game, and one of the best I've played.

Heavy Rain on the other hand earns its place for being brutally realistic. If you mess up, then your whole gameplay could change. 2 of the main four characters could actually die in play (permanently) and depending on your choices the other two could die at the last mission or in epilogue. This is something shared with FNV. However Heavy Rain was a lot more... intense than FNV. It's plot was beautifully crafted, and most of the characters were intriguing. The mechanics were terrible. But like I said, not here to judge for that. Heavy Rain was one of the reasons I went out and got a PS3 again.

Fallout: New Vegas like I said is very much so like Heavy Rain in that it has brutal realism. If you mess up, then people can die. Your companions can even die. But what makes FNV earn it's place is the morality of it all. And the grim reality that no matter what you do, not every ending slide on the epilogue will be happy. Each of the warring factions have good and bad qualities, each of them have valid points and downfalls. There is no right or wrong, and you have to make major decisions that will have major consequences. This makes it the best game I've ever played in terms of grey morality.

Spyro the dragon for PS1 or Crash Bandicoot, any of the PS1 games. That's probably nostalgia talking.

Otherwise Tomb Raider 2013, I love that game so much.

Or Pokemon Gold/Silver. Or pokemon Emerald. This is so hard and I only play games really casually haha

Goldeneye. It may not have aged all that well, but I put more hours into that than any other game and had so much fun with the split-screen multiplayer.

    Pokemon Emerald
-This is the best version of Pokemon for me. Everything about it is lovely. I also like the geography of it.

    Tekken
    - Tekken 5 specifically. Because Eddy Gordo and Christie Monteiro! For me, this is the best fighting game EVER. MK and SF is good too but Tekken has greater impact on me.

    Left4Dead
    - Guns+Zombies+Hot dudes= golgari smiling all the way

    League of Legends
    - Compared to DotA and other MOBA games, LoL has the best unique(?) and diverse and interesting characters. Tho the LoL community doesnt have a great community. There are lots of toxic players.
