I was just wondering if anyone else is dealing with being plus sized and how that's affected their coming out or their day to day lives, especially if you're trying to date. Do you find LGBT people are more or less judgemental because of your weight?
Most of the lesbians that I have personally known had no issue with a partner being heavier. Some even preferred it. My experience is that men are a bit more judgemental about it but even some of them like more curvy women.
I'm trans femme. I'm not only plus sized, but also tall. The difficult part for me has finding women's clothes that fit me. It's sometimes hard enough to find men's clothes that fit me, let alone women's. I primarily wear dresses, some just as long shirts.
Personal experience is that women tend to not be particular about appearances compared to men. While I do not have stats, the majority of the population in the West is overweight, so you are in the minority here. That being said most people have an idea of who they are attracted to and who they are not. It can be a little hard to negotiate that really. Best of luck!
