BE HONEST: Does race matter when dating?

    Race doesnt really matter to me, though I do find it annoying when others have preferances to other races.. It makes me feel bad. Sometimes I do wonder what it would be like being black or white, or asian, seeing it from thier points of view and why the view it that way. Otherwise I have no probelm with race

    To me it kind of does. Not because I flat out wouldn't date someone of a certain race, but generally there are certain races I'm just not usually attracted to. I always seem to be attracted to the same kind of look.

    That's not to say I'm racist, or that I wouldn't be open to dating someone of a race other than my own.

    I will find some races more attractive than others... but that does not make me racist. It's as controllable as my sexuality. Anyone who says otherwise is ignorant...

    But race will not keep me from being in a relationship with someone; though, I have less of a chance to date people in the unpreferred race BECAUSE I don't find them as attractive. I can't control what race I am attracted to and which one I'm more likely to date.

    I have dated people from practically every race, but I just have certain preferences in term of looks and features, akin to what Tai mentioned. That doesn't mean that I wouldn't ever date someone of a certain other race. I can't control what I find attractive and what's not attractive.

    There's plenty of people I find attractive of every race (and unattractive) that it really wouldn't matter. At this point, I'd be more focused on emotional compatibility.

    No - I'm attracted to whoever regardless of race or gender etc. if the chemistry is there it just happens. My past partners have been a mix of races, genders, orientations and nationalities.

    It matters in the sense that most people I'm attracted to are white, but I don't "refuse to date" people because of their race.

    No, race doesn't matter. Most of my relationships, including my current one, have been interracial actually.
