that is, honesrtly, my only gripe with the cartoon. I suspect that they might have at one time considered doing a zuko spinoff where he goes in search of his mother.

I suspect that the cartoon (this is pure speculation) will be summer 2012. we have been told 2012, but not a firm time frame, and summer seems like a good time, because I think the first season (they have announced two) would probably fit nicely into a summer block. I think both seasons will be 26 episodes combined.

I really hope it doesn't suck like most sequels.

given the quality of first series, any suckage factor will be because this is a whole new set of characters in a world that has advanced 70ish years or so. Honestly, I think it will take a little adjusting to, but if they maintian and fulfil the quality of storytelling they had in the original, it may take adjustment, but I think they can pull it off.

I truly feel that I could create a much better film than what M. Night did....and I'm not a director...

I got so incensed over the film that by the time I finished, I had a mental list for how to, in my opinion (and I am not a film maker, just a writer who is obsessed with story structure and flow) of what they should have done.

6 films, two for each seasons of the tv show: The Last Airbender; Seige of the North; The Lost Library; The Battle of Ba Se Seing; The Day of Black Sun; The Pheonix King.

the first film would entail the introduction, all the way to escaping the fire temple after learning of sozin's comet. the second would be to the end of book one.

the third would go from the beginning to the escape from the library, and realization appa was gone. the fourth would begin with appa's journey, then follow the gang to ba se seing, and the ensuing battles with the dai li. the fifth would go to the aftermath of the failed invasion. the final would bring zuko to the team, the boiling rock, the final preperations, the showdown, and the aftermath.

the keoshi warriors would be in film one, and again in film four, five, and six. you would have the earth prisoners, but not surrounded by earth, but as it was in the cartoon on the rig. you would cut anything that is repeditive, but shoot references of them during transitionary portions of the film that help us travel, but catch glimpse of stories such as the great divide and the western gate, and other things, as a honor to the fans.

it just doesnt work as three 1 and a half hour films. give it time to breath and have justice done to the original.

They're saying it may be revealed in a flashback in Korra.

    Damn you beat me.

I am curious as to how they'll do the flashbacks. I hope the make them relevant to the story in Korra. If they're just random flashbacks that'd be a bit annoying.

^ I don't think I've ever seen a flashback in a show that was irrelevant to the story... P:

Hmm this seems interesting, can't wait for it to air in Finland.

I bet perhaps the child of Mai and Zuko maybe will tell the story? Maybe Korra will meet him/her if there is a child of the two. Who knows.

It looks a bit more 'anime' than the first series. Is that good or bad? I really don't know but as long as they try to keep true to the original series and maintain the quality of storytelling present in the first series I am all for it. Avatar the Last Airbender (original series) was an outstanding show and I hope that this one does justice to it (unlike the Avatar the Last Airbender movie--That was a terrible piece of film making and storytelling).

The first time I saw the movie I thought it wasn't bad.

I rewatched it and realized I only thought that because of nostalgia. Worst movie I've ever seen.

I mean, I've seen worse but at least they made me laugh because of it. This movie was just a giant 'ಠ_ಠ'-fest
