So no, this is not a sexual fantasy question or one that requires extreme details. This is a serious question. Sorry :frowning2:

When you're in the men's locker room, do you get erections? Even though I have (and still do) struggle with doubts about my sexuality, most likely caused from HOCD, I truly consider myself to be gay. Yet, I do not get erections in the men's locker room......EVER!!! Even if I see a hot guy walk by with no towel on after taking a hot shower!!! Nothing happens!!!

Does this make me not gay? Or, is this just a case of being shy around other guys in the men's locker room?

No it certainly doesn't mean you aren't gay--it may mean you're not thirteen. I don't get erections in locker rooms either. That's not what you're there for. The world is full to the bursting with attractive men--if you pop wood over every single one of them that would be a problem. Don't get me wrong I've asked guys out in the locker room before, but no, no erections at the time...

Not really no, but then, I've never been too comfortable being naked around other people unless I know them decently. Plus I long long ago got into the habit of not looking because of not wanting to seem too interested, and I never really broke that habit. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

That definitely has no implications on your sexuality.

When I see an attractive guy, I don't get an erection. Anywhere, even in the locker room.
I just see an attractive guy and think, "Oh, he's attractive."

I'd really have to be thinking sexually to get aroused.

What's interesting about erections is they are part physical response and part psychological. So in general, if you're naked in a public (or semi-public) place, most people will have a certain amount of nervousness, which, in turn, will keep erections from happening.

There's a clothing optional hot springs I go to pretty regularly with my ever-expanding circle of friends, so there's often one or two new people each time. And they're always worried about getting aroused if they see a hot guy (or, for the straight ones, girl.) But it simply never happens.

Interestingly, the majority of first-time male porn performers often have the same problem even though they're totally there for the purpose of getting aroused. The psychological factors in the unconscious that inhibit arousal are pretty constant and consistent.

So in short, failure to get aroused in a shower when you're naked next to a bunch of other naked guys has pretty much no bearing whatsoever on sexual orientation.

Part of it I think is just that appropriate behavior when out in public. You know you have to behave yourself. It's more instinctual to not get aroused. Although, my time nude in men's locker rooms is extremely limited.
