by lonely i mean do you enjoy being alone? or you're the kind of person who wants to be with someone all the time? because most people i know think it's boring to be alone but i don't agree with that..
i love being alone my best moments and memories are when i'm all by myself! i just feel so free and happy..
that doesn't mean i don't enjoy people's company but if i don't get some time to spend alone during the day i'm going crazy..
    what about you??

I very strongly prefer being alone. I only have two close friends and don't want anymore.

I'm generally pretty good at keeping myself content being alone, but that's kind of out of necessity. I'm definitely lonely.

I enjoy solitude yes, and frequently go by myself into the city or to the coast where I can clear my head.

I too enjoy my alone time. True freedom is being able to be in control of ones environment without having to compromise with another persons desires.

I like being alone and I definitely need some time by myself, I feel drained if I'm around people for too long.
Also depends on the people I'm around, if I really enjoy their company it's not as draining but that's not the case with most people I know at this point lmao so in general I usually prefer being alone.
That makes me feel lonely sometimes though. I guess overall I'm content by myself, but wish I had more people that I actually enjoy being around. If i did I know I'd still treasure my alone time but it'd be more balanced between the two extremes, if that makes sense?

Yes and no. I really enjoy spending time with family and friends, but after some time I may want to be alone. And I can truly enjoy being alone, but again not for a long time.. then I'll start feeling lonely and look for a company.

I feel like it really depends. I'm from a family of six, and we live in a pretty small house so I'm never alone. For that reason, I think that I definitely struggle with being alone for long periods of time because I'm so used to being surrounded by people. At the same time though, for the same reasons there are definitely times when all I want is to be alone.

I used to think that I prefer solitude. Now, I prefer an intimate gathering more.
Time to time, I welcome spending some time by myself.

I'm a lonely person, by your definition of the word. I love spending time by myself. I do enjoy the company of others from time to time, because I can only talk to myself for that long, lol. Seriously though, I like my own company. I value alone-time because living in a household with 4 other adults and a 7 year old, gets exhausting. So with that said, I'm a loner (think that's the word you meant to use )

No, not really. I'm alright with time to myself but I don't need it the way a lot of people do. On the other hand I do need time with other people. One on one interaction seems to be my default mode.

I've spent the last 35 years (I'm 35) alone, that by now I prefer to be alone. Yes, I'm married, but I've always said there's an exception to every rule. I also have 1 real friend, and several acquaintances. But i don't want or need more in my life. Even when both me and my wife are home, I like being in my computer room, while she's in the living room watching TV. I need solitude. I tend to go out and drive around town just to be alone a lot. I like having no distractions when I'm working on one of my books, or playing my guitar.

There is a distinct difference between being lonely... or alone.

Lonely, by definition, is a negative emotion that can be felt whether you have a thousand friends, or none.
Alone, on the other hand, is simply that. Alone. There is no emotional connotation.

I am not a lonely person, but I do very much enjoy the peace and quiet of being alone. I do not need others to entertain me or distract me or give my life enjoyment or meaning. If not for financial needs, I could very easily live a life of solitude without ever experiencing loneliness.

That said, I do have a handful of dependable and enjoyable people in my life. My partner Gideon, my twin sister, a couple of close friends, and my employers. This is more than enough for me... and in fact sometimes too much, where as I go MIA for a while from my friends when I need some extra space.

As an only child, I am used to spending a lot of time alone, and I do often find I need a lot more alone time than most people. But I do also enjoy being sociable with friends, I just find I don't constantly need company.

It's a tale of two halves for me. I like to be alone sometimes because I think that's when I am most productive. I also enjoy it because it gives me perspective, I can look at where I am and where I'd like to go more easily.

I also really like the company of other people too because it's nice to share ideas and simply enjoy their company.

I like having time to myself, but I do feel quite lonely at times. I wish I had more people to talk to and hang out with
