Personally, I dislike white Christmas trees, and think they look tacky. It's funny when people say stuff like "But they look more realistic when they are white!", um no if anything it makes them look more fake, and when people say stuff like that it makes me think that they've never seen an actual snow covered Pine tree before.

If they were realistic, then the branches would sag due to the weight of the snow (especially if it's a lot of snow) there would be pine cones hanging on a few of the branches, and the bottom of the branches would not be white but rather dark green, so if it was realistic than this green would at least be visible. Some branches would sag more than others, the ones towards the bottom would sag more than the ones at the top. Plus, they don't feel like real Pine trees. Some fake Christmas trees do, but the white ones tend not to, as they tend to be more flimsy and thin; easier to flex.

But if you want a white one, then go for it I guess. It's not to my taste, but it's not my life...it's yours. *Shrugs*

Personally I don't think they're tacky, and look quite nice if decorated right. I would say as the saying goes with beauty, tacky is in the eye of the beholder. If you want a white tree get a white tree, personally I'd like to have a big rainbow tree. haha. And I'm sure there are people who would think that was tacky.

I love white christmas trees. This year I have a silver one though. Really, it comes down to how you decorate the tree and the other decorations that you have in the house/ If it does not match your other decorations, then it will stand out a bit. Otherwise, you should be fine. I miss my old white tree.
