Just saw it today and I loved it (especially Chris Hemsworth as the outrageously dumb blond and Kate McKinnon's face/character/everything). Just curious that if anyone else has seen it yet, and if so, what your thoughts are on it

I only go to see movies that look good and are somewhat original. They literally took everything except the bad humour of the new Ghostbusters from the old one.

I don't want to watch it, not because the cast is comprised fully of women, but the fact that nobody really wanted a reboot of the original ghost busters, and the effects suck(from what I have heard). If it was a sequel with a new plot, probably, but I wasn't a huge fan of ghost busters anyway so...

I'm really looking forward to see it. I've read quite a few interesting articles dissecting why the old Ghostbusters were such a hit. Actually 75% of the charm was that Ghostbusters were a very different kind of 'heroes', 'cause they were Nerds (capital N). I'm a sucker for nerd girls movies, and I loved Ghostbusters, so...

I'm not going to see it. Not just because their all women, but because of which women are in it. I have no desire to see any movie that has and of those four women as the main stars. Plus, in the original the characters took their jobs seriously. In this one it looks like they are just making fun of the original Ghostbusters.

I saw it a couple of days ago. It's not high art and it's not as good as the original, but the cast was good and I may or may not want to marry Kate McKinnon now.

    No.

It looks like it has the wit, appeal, and artistic integrity of an Adam Sandler film. I've heard that most of the "humor" was improvised, and none of it worked. Apparently it doesn't have the subtlety of the original either, and not just in the humor. I'm talking about the world building, character arcs, backstories and personalities. (Screenwriting 101.) I've heard the reboot has none of that, and the characters, (like the film,) are just one-dimensional corporate shells of their former selves. The Force Awakens succeeded as a passing the torch reboot where Ghostbusters failed.
    ...From what I've heard.

So no, I'd rather not waste my time and money on the movie.

Just kidding, I actually hate it because of the all-female cast.

I saw Ghostbusters I yesterday. The SFXs look like a joke, and for those talking about 'the psychology of the characters' I have no idea what they are talking about... It was just your average 80s comedy. A cool one, true, but nothing more than that...

I saw it a few days ago. I actually really liked it. It was fun, the characters kept me interested and the 3-D effects (I...got to watch it in 3-D *awkward thumbs up*) were shockingly good. Like honestly it was the best 3-D I had seen in a while (most other recent 3-D movies I watched just added a bit of depth, but this one went beyond that). I thought it was really fun.

I saw it and loved it. Holtzman and Patty were dreamboats and I got a lot of laughs out of it. I'd watch this one again over the original to be honest.

I loved it! (Holtzman is HOT!!!) The whole thing had me falling out of my seat laughing. The characters actually had quite a bit of depth, surprisingly, at least relative to the amount of time spent on character building. The plot was a bit predictable, but it was so much fun I didn't mind that.

Lol @ everyone having to clarify that their reason for not seeing this movie is due to something other than the all-female cast, as if not seeing it makes you a misogynist and seeing it is some kind of feminist statement. How about it's just a bad movie, yo?

Well, I haven't seen it, but any movie that passes the furiosa test gets at least a 5/10 from me.

(If you don't know what that is, the "furiosa test" is basically "did it anger pissbabies on the internet because of the women in it"?)

Unfortunately, feminists were really up and arms when people criticized the trailer of it. It's no wonder people have to specify that they didn't like the movie for reasons other than the all female cast.

I'm not wasting my time with seeing it.

We all know that the 1984 original will NEVER be topped.

I haven't seen it, like all other remakes, it will never be as good as the original.
