AWE-sum! Yes, I'm a huge, huge Joe-head. I remember the commercial for the 1st issue, and Dad and I drove to town and they had issues #1 and #2 at the convenience store. I have tons of the toys, too.

Scarlett *is* epic. She was one of the first totally competent female soldiers in any story I saw. Scarlett was *never* the damsel-in-distress.

Snake-Eyes is awesome too. I like lots of the Joes, really. I used to pick a new one to identify with every year, but also kept my wanting to be Lady Jaye.

You're right! She was *never* a damsel-in-distress she mostly took names xD I used to collect the toys too, I wish I never opened the damn packages cause toy hunters are totally looking for original G.I. Joe action figures, especially the Kenner ones.

The opened toys are worth money too. At least they are if *I* want to buy them.

What's your favorite toy? Besides my Lady Jaye, of course, my faves are my Mauler Tank and Ghoststrike X-16 jet.

Really the only comic book I've read is "Watchmen" but I'd refer to it as a graphic novel as it's so long and complex... 0.o But seriously, read it. It's amazing.

Watchmen is amazing. It truly is a great novel, graphic or otherwise. My favorite part is when Dr. Manhattan describes Quantum Miracles to Silk Spectre - it's so life-affirming.

Y'think? LOL Mine would be Nite Owl 2. Just something about him reaching out to Silk Spectre, and finding himself again, making a difference again.

I also like Rorschach. His blak-and-white views are really appealing.

Yep, I've read comics and graphic novels for many years, and still do. A lot of the things I like are reprints of earlier things, and I also tend to like the abstract/artsy as well as the humorous, and darkly humorous.

-Donald Duck/Uncle Scrooge, the ones by the great master, Carl Barks
    -Walt Kelly-Pogo Possum
    -Bone-Jeff Smith
-EC Comics of the 1950s (Vault of Horror, Weird Science, Crime Suspense, Mad)
-Captain Marvel (The one on Fawcett, who says "Shazaam!"
    -Robert Crumb
-RAW Comics (where stuff like Art Spiegelman's MAUS first appeared)
-Cerebus by Dave Sim (well, at least the first half, till he went crazy)
    -golden/silver age Wonder Woman
    -golden/silver age Batman
-Planet Comics, and other assorted pulp-ish sci-fi
    -Plastic Man
-Spider-Man, at least till the 80s. I like the first 30 or so best, as I much prefer the art in the --silver age era, when he was slender. I don't like the later muscular version. Yuck.
    -Watchmen
-Brian Talbot's Works: The Tale of One Bad Rat, Grandville
-Charles Burns: Black Hole, Big Baby, Dog Boy
    -Tin-Tin

There must be a ton I'm forgetting, but comics are among my favorite things.

Oh, and I really loved the comic strip, Rehabilitating Mr. Wiggles. Best comic strip ever! And remember...Mr. Wiggles Loves You. What a twisted comic.

I'm surprised, HuskyPup, that you didn't mention Teen Titans.

Funds are limited so I don't read as many as I'd like. But there are certain ones I've been setting aside money for lately.

    Adventure Time
    Lumberjanes
    Rat Queens
Elric (I'm a fan of the novels and the comics are almost as good)
The Farscape comics were great too. They really captured the spirit of the show. I still need to get my hands on the last TP.
I used to read a lot of different Star Wars comics too but lost track of them over time.

Hey Everypony, I know our local library has quite a few of the "great" graphic novels and some trades too, might be a way to look at a few more things if your library does that too.

I'm just starting out with comics too! I'm subscribed to Ms. Marvel, Black Widow and Lumberjanes. I'm not really into Black Widow yet but that's because I only have issues 1 and 10 so I'm missing a chunk of the story. Ms. Marvel is, so far, my favourite comic ever. Lumberjanes is a close second, though!

I hadn't thought of checking the library for that sort of thing. Maybe because the librarians are all scary and hate me so I try not to think of the library at all? But that's a good idea. I'll have to walk into the lion's den and take a look one of these days lol

I love graphic novels even though I need to read more of them. Some of my favorite comic series/graphic novels are Y The Last Man, The Maxx, The Walking Dead, Blankets, and various manga.

I'm especially interested in reading more Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman.

I think I better drop off some links to give you comic lovers

If you like good old golden age comics, take a look at the Comic Book Plus. You can read old comics, like original blue bettle or if you are like me, cheesy old romance comics are there to make you laugh.

If you like superheroes, Mr. Woolfson and his team makes awesome comics. They are free to read online. Linky

Mmhm, I have a subscription to Nightwing as well as Batman. However, since Nightwing has changed to Grayson, I shan't be renewing my subscription to it this year.

Before they killed off Damian, I used to read a lot of Batman and Robin too.

Anyone who is into the Batman universe, please hit me up, as I will talk to you for days about story arcs
