Anyone else unphotogenic?

I am. I have a rounded oval shaped face with these huge bags under my eyes that appear when I smile. Even when I cosplay and use makeup stuff to try and..contour(?), pictures still look weird with me in them.

 

I am not photogenic. For every 10 photos I've had taken, I might like one ... sort of. Some faces might look ok in person or when they are moving, possibly in film media, but may not photograph well. Longer, more triangular faces with more slender yet stronger jaws seem to photograph consistently well. Photographers know the sorts of faces that consistently deliver good photos and those that don't.

 

...I guess you could say I'm "photophobic", If I start seeing camera flashes I'll duck and cover, and not just on a bad hair day! If only I looked a bit better. :lol:

 

My nose always looks crooked in photos. And not just a little skew either, I'm talking full Owen Wilson. So I have to look straight at the camera and when I do that my jaw and chin look sort of too big. Ugh. I'm just not meant for cameras I guess

 

I never photograph well I'm like Earl from My Name is Earl, my eyes are almost always closed on photos. Either that, or I have this goofy grin or double chins.
I refuse to believe I am that ugly in person!

I always have glaring eyes. Some people comment that I have fierce eyes. I'm like no really I'm good I'm not mad. And when I smile it only makes it look worse like I'm saying "b*tch I'm gonna enjoy killing you". It's like having Malificent for a face. :dry: It's like there needs to be a disclaimer underneath my photograph saying "Contrary to popular belief I do not live off the misery of others."

Well anyways being unphotogenic but attractive in person is a good thing I think. People will be at awe and be surprised in a good way. Rather than the other way around of being uberly photogenic but when they see you in person they'd want to make a double take on your photograph because it feels like they were Catfished. Then they submit you to the MTV reality show :lol:

 

I don't knkw whether I'm unphotogenic or just really difficult to work with, but whenever somebody take a picture of me I either look really high, or as if I'm about to kill somebody, probably the photographer because I hate having my picture taken.

 

I make weird expressions in pictures when I'm trying to smile. Also, when I force myself to smile sometimes my teeth show like a hillbilly.

 

I'm unphotogenic to the max haha, my eyes always look off in random directions when my picture is taken, my eyes always shut due to the flash, I have the goofiest expressions; and there is the whole "being assigned male but hating it" thing

 

Me. I am terrible at having my photo taken. For one, I cannot fake smile. I am incapable of it. All my school photos show me looking "angry", even though I'm not, but I do have a resting bitch face.

When someone points a camera at me, I instantly get nervous and anxious and want it away from me as soon as possible.

I once told a guy who was interested in me that I couldn't smile in photographs and he instantly left. "This isn't going to work". I couldn't believe it.

 

Depends on camera lol.

 

Take a picture of a rotting seagull carcass and compare it my selfies.

Every single time someone takes a photo of me... every single time.. I'm talking, and I see a weird photo of myself with a stretched yawn face.

I got so tired of bad photos of me (and some of my friends) I actually taught myself photography.

 

I can not begin to express how bad I'd like to see these "expressions". lol

 

Objectively, I usually look awesome in photos. However, I can't stand looking at myself. I get really angry/upset about how I don't look masculine.

 

I'm either not photogenic, ugly, or have a skewed perception of myself. I feel like I look much better in mirrors than photos.

 

I feel like I've gotten more photogenic over the last few years. But I still don't like my picture taken most of the time

 

Why do you think that, in all the time I've been on this site, I haven't put up a single pic of myself? It would probably crash the site.

Seriously though, I don't even have pics of myself up on any social media account or anything. The one pic I had up was only because it was one I took with my brother at his graduation, and I've long since removed it. I'd burn every last pic of mine if I could.

That's not to say that I call myself ugly though. As I put it, there's a huge difference in what I see in a mirror(where I can appreciate when I look nice) and in a pic.

 

I find myself unphotogenic, and I dread having to have my photo taken. I will do it and allow them to be shared on Social Media but I very rarely look at them, unless I actually think it is a good one. I had to send off a full length photo of myself for a Personal Shopping experience and I couldn't look at it, and just sent it off (Lord know what I look like).

I'm worse with videos though.
